III. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson
How can you say that a school is healthy? How about a community?
B. Establishing a Purpose of the Lesson
Teacher presents a word chart. -I have here some words. You are going
to find these words in the word chart, but the word chart has some
empty boxes so you have to fill in the correct letter that is needed to
complete the word then, encircle the word.

school and community? Can we avoid or minimize those problems? How?

Here are some ways to keep our environment clean. Read then explain
briefly then say: But, being clean only doesn’t mean it is healthy so what are
some other ways to keep our school and community healthy? (Teacher writes
the responses of the children)

Group Activity: Role Playing - I am going to divide you into 4 groups.
Select a leader. - What are to be observed while working with your group?
- Now, here are your group activity card. You are going to plan for 5
minutes only then present your output for not more than 3 minutes.
Group. 1 – Make a simple presentation on how you can help make and keep
our school and community healthy by avoiding or minimizing drug abuse,
cigarette smoking and drinking liquor.
Group. 2 – Make a simple presentation on how you can help make and keep
our school and community healthy through proper sanitation and waste
disposal.
Group. 3 – Make a simple presentation on how you can help make and keep
our school and community healthy by preventing malnutrition and diseases.
Group. 4 – Make a simple presentation on how you can help make and keep
our school and community healthy by minimizing pollution and garbage.

Let us have a game. You are going to show me a smile if the sentence
demonstrates making and keeping our school and community healthy and a sad
face if it is not. 1. The grade VI class practices waste segregation. 2. Your friend
invited you for a cigarette smoking session and you immediately agree and started
smoking. 3. The school is having a supplementary feeding for underweight children
4. Your family went to a rural health center for immunization and vaccination to
prevent diseases. 5. Burning of waste is prohibited in your community.

You are invited for a coastal clean-up in your barangay. Are you going to join? Why?
