Coca-Cola’s advertising has had a significant impact on American Culture,

and is frequently credited with the “invention” of the modern image of Santa Claus as
an old man in red-and-white garments;

The advertisement faced falling into disuse in 2001, as the Coca-Cola Company
restricted its advertising campaigns so that advertising around the world was produced
locally in each country, rather than centrally in the company’s headquarters in Atlanta,
Georgia.
However in 2007, the company brought back the campaign after, according to
the company, many consumers telephoned its information center saying they considered
it to mark the beginning of Christmas.
