    Drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods must hold an ADR Driver Training Certificate. The 3-day Initial
    Valimyre
    Basic Course prepares participants for the assessment test for transporting dangerous goods in packages,
    Aylmer Road
    drums and IBCs.
    Newcastle
    Those requiring an ADR certificate for Road Tankers must attend a further 2-day Initial Tanker Specialisation
    Co. Dublin

    Following completion of the course and a minimum 2week interval, the driver may attend the examinations
    he requires; these examinations are overseen by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. On
    successful completion of the required examinations, the driver will be issued with an ADR driver training
    certificate which is valid for 5 years

    This Training is required by Law:
    European Communities (Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and Use of Transportable Pressure
    Equipment) Regulations 2011 to 2015
    The Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
    This training aims to equip participants with the knowledge necessary to pass the Chartered Institute of
    Logistics and Transport examinations which allow drivers of heavy goods vehicles to carry dangerous goods.
     
    Our courses are approved by Health & Safety Authority
    and examined by the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport
     
    Initial Basic ADR Packages Courses – 3 Days
    Drivers transporting dangerous goods in packages, drums or IBCs in vans, curtain siders lorries, box vans or
    freight containers are required to attend a 3-day Initial Basic (Packages) course and pass the CILT Initial Basic
    exam.
    Initial ADR Tanker Specialisation Course – 5 Days
    Drivers transporting hazardous substances in tank carrying vehicles (e.g. road tankers, tank containers,
    demountable tanks etc.) are required to attend the 3-day Initial Basic course and an additional 2-day Tanker
    Specialisation course and pass the CILT Initial Basic (Packages) exam and the Tanker Specialisation exam.
    ADR Packages Refresher Course – 1 Day
    The ADR drivers training certificate is valid for 5 years.
    To extend the Basic (Packages) certificate, a driver is required to attend a Basic (Packages) Refresher course
    and pass the CILT Basic exam in the last 12 months of the certificate.
    ADR Tanker Specialisation Refresher Course-2 Days
    The ADR drivers training certificate is valid for 5 years.
    To extend the Tanker certificate, a driver is required to attend a Basic (Packages) 1 day course and a Tanker
    Refresher 1 day course and pass the CILT Basic (Packages) and Tanker exams in the last 12 months of the
    certificate.
    Initial Basic Packages 3 day Course – €350
    Initial Basic Packages and Tanker Specialisation 5 day Course – €600
    Refresher Packages 1 day Course – €200
    Refresher Tanker 2 day Course – €300
    Examination fees are not included.
    Exams fee’s Initial Basic exam €125, Tanker specialisation exam €125, Both exams taken on the same day
