Crossed Wires

A frenzied race to answer the phone

What a mess! The lines are so tangled up it's hard to tell which telephones
are connected. If you can figure it out and pick up the right phone…you win!

Ravensburger® Game No. 21 098 5

For 2-4 players, ages 6-12

Contents: 24 telephone cards

26 telephone chips
7 six-sided connection tiles
6 telephone tiles
1 game board
1 colour die
Game rules

Object of the Game

Players follow the tangled lines with their eyes —no fingers, please! The first
player to figure out which telephones are connected wins a telephone chip, and
the first player to collect six chips wins the game.

Each player is given 6 telephone cards with the same colour border. On each
card is a different colour telephone. You may keep them in your hand or place
them face up in front of you.

Setting Up
Carefully punch out all the game parts. One player is in charge of the telephone
chips. Place the six telephone tiles face up in the spaces reserved for them on
the board, and place the seven 6-sided connection tiles face up in the open area
of the game board so that there are no empty spaces.

How to Play
The youngest player starts the game by rolling the
colour die. The colour that comes up will match one of
the telephones on the board. Everyone now tries to
follow the yellow line from that telephone to the
telephone it's connected to. Use your eyes only. You
may not trace the line with your fingers.

As soon as you figure out which telephone is

connected, take your card that matches the colour of
that telephone and slap it face down on the table. The
other players will slap their cards face down on the
same pile when they figure out the connections, so you
should try to be first!

When all players have played their cards, turn the pile
face up. The card that was played first is now on top,
face up. Is it the right colour?

Use your fingers to trace the yellow line from the

telephone indicated by the die to the phone it's
connected to. The first card in the pile that
matches that telephone wins a telephone chip.
Nobody else wins a chip in that round, even if they
also played the correct card; only the first correct
card wins a chip.

The Next Rounds

The player who won a telephone chip now switches any two tiles on the
game board. This may be any of the six-sided connection tiles or the
telephone tiles.

The player to the left of the one who began the first round now rolls the
die to begin the next round. Play continues as before.

End of the Game

The first player to collect six telephone chips is the winner.
