Tarot vs.

Oracle
In this mini-lesson, I’m going to talk a little about the difference between tarot
L

cards and Oracle Cards.

Both are divination systems- a means to communicate with the Conscious

Universe, but they are quite different!
E

Tarot cards originated sometime around the early 15th century (The oldest
known deck is dated around 1440). They have existed the same way since their
introduction.
S

Tarot is a fixed system, this means every deck will always be the same.
They will always have:
78 cards
22 Major Arcana or trump cards
S

56 Minor Arcana cards

A lexicon, or symbolic language, which stays the same no matter the deck
Tarot decks will have artwork that varies and the author may put a slightly different
spin on it, but it will basically stay the same.
O

*The tarot deck I created called, The Good Tarot, is based on positive psychology, but
can still be used the same way.

* There are many books on the tarot that teach all about it. Some people study tarot
for years!
N

Now, Oracle Cards are a fluid system of divination- this means that every deck will
be different:
The number of cards will vary
There will always be different cards with different meanings
They are channeled through the author and therefore the lexicon will be
spoken through the lens of the author’s experience
1

I love Oracle Cards!! I find them to be a more psychologically accurate system

because they are created for the modern mystic. They are channeled through the
collective consciousness of who we are today.

1
So:
Tarot cards are fixed and will always have the same meanings- no surprises

Oracle Cards change according to the author and theme- they will always
be a surprise!
L

Now, go and check out how this modern system of divination can reflect your
situation today!

Ask, “What support will you give me to help me navigate my best life?”
E

See you next time!!
