COURSE INFORMATION
1. Course Number :EdMath3
2. Course Name :Analysis Geometry and Introduction to Calculus
1. Course Description :This course offers a broader and deeper understanding of Mathematical principles
needed by any prospective teacher of mathematics. It highlights the integration of geometric and algebraic concepts. With
a proper exposure to basic calculus concepts, teachers will gain more confidence in helping and guiding their students’
development off competitive skills in today’s highly technological society.

5. Credit : 3.0 units

First Exam Part 1: Chapter 1 Multiple Choice You are expected to solve the fundamental concepts in Cartesian coordinate
Questions system, line segments,distance between two points, midpoint of line segment,
(70% of the exam) division of line segment, inclination and slope of a line , parallel and perpendicular
lines. This includes your experiences upon learning Edmath1 (Advanced Algebra
and Trigonometry) and EdMath 2 (Plane and Solid Geometry) through the use of
Cartesian plane that basically it can help you to specify the different analytic
approach in mathematics.You will have a short quiz every end of the lesson, a
group activity in the middle of the week and a long quiz every Friday. Assessment
for this period of the course is a periodical examination .
Second Part 2: Chapter 2-3 Multiple Choice You are expected to solve operations in algebraic approach in relation to the
Exam Questions coordinate system involving distances of two points, slope of lines, equations of
(50% of the exam) lines. This includes topics in part of the book EdMath1 (Advanced Algebra and
Trigonometry) to develop your skills in computing and solving mathematical
equation.You will have a short quiz every end of the lesson, a group activity in the
middle of the week and a long quiz every Friday. Assessment for this period of the
course is a periodical examination.
Third Exam Part 3: Chapter 4-6 Multiple Choice You are expected to solve operations in algebraic approach in relation to the
Questions coordinate system involving equations of circles and equations of conic
(50% of the exam) sections.This includes topics in EdMath 2 (Plane and Solid Geometry) to enhance
your abilities in computing and solving mathematical equation.You will have a
short quiz every end of the lesson, a group activity in the middle of the week and a
long quiz every Friday. Assessment for this period of the course is a periodical
examination.
Final Exam Part 1-3 Multiple Choice This assessment task is designed for you to come up deep understanding in the
Questions (70%) complexity of the different mathematical equation in analytic approach.

First Exam Part 1: Chapter 1 Board work In this task, you are required to solve the fundamental concepts in Cartesian coordinate
(30% of the exam) system, line segments,distance between two points, midpoint of line segment, division of line
segment, inclination and slope of a line , parallel and perpendicular lines in analytic approach to
utilize it in the process of solving solutions of mathematical equations in Cartesian plane.
You will be graded according to the following criteria (see rubric attached) for Board work:
1. Cleanliness in Presentation (20 points)
2. Speed and Accuracy(80 points)
Second Exam Part 2: Chapter 2-3 Activity Worksheet The purpose of this task is for you to develop your skills in solving algebraic approach in relation
(50% of the exam) to the coordinate system involving distances of two points, slope of lines, equations of lines.
You are required to answer required number of worksheet on a specified time frame.
You will be given additional task for you to work at home.
You will be graded according to the following criteria (see rubric attached):
