ACEFIAR Financial Accounting and Reporting 3
This course provides an introduction to accounting within the context of business and
business decisions. It provides the students with knowledge on the principles and
concepts of accounting and its applications, that will enable them to appreciate the
production of accounting data. Emphasis is given on providing the students with
understanding of the reasons underlying basic accounting concepts, and adequate
background on the recording of transactions, classifications of accounts, and

reporting function of accounting in service and trading concerns through the
preparation of Statement of Financial Position, Income Statement, Statement of
Changes in Equity, and Cash Flow Statement. Exposure to recording and reporting of
transactions for service or trading firm through the use of practice set, using either
manual or computerized system, will be a requirement in this course.
