POWER BOARD
Calibration of the voltage lamp
Act on trimmer P1 placed on the power board (see drawing ET0301) to obtain on the lamp a voltage
of 5.6 Vdc.
CPU BOARD
Calibration reference on A/D converter
Act on trimmer P3 placed on the cpu board to obtain on tests point TP3 – TP2 a voltage of
1 Vdc the reference value for the photometric signal (see drawing ET0302).
Temperature calibration reference
Act on trimmer P4 placed on the cpu board to obtain on the tests point TP1 – TP2 a voltage of
2.731 Vdc the reference value for the temperature (see drawing ET0302).
TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION
Tool required: external thermometer.
- Optical group calibration
Open the instrument and position the ext. thermometer at the lodging of the flow cell.
Wait until the temperature is stabilized (around 5/10 minutes).
In the case the temperature indicated by the ext. thermometer is higher or lower than the
temperature store in memory, act on trimmer P6 placed on the cpu board to increase or decrease the
temperature.
- Incubator temperature calibration
Open the instrument and position the ext. thermometer at the lodging of the incubator.
Wait until the temperature is stabilized (around 10/15 minutes).
In the case the temperature indicated by the ext. thermometer is higher or lower than the
temperature store in memory, act on trimmer P5 placed on the cpu board to increase or decrease the
temperature.
The optical group temperature is calibrated at 37°C as default and is programmable for particular
methods at 25°C et/or 30°C.

OPTICAL AMPLIFIER BOARD
Normally the trimmer P1 (gain) and the trimmer P2 (offset) placed on the optical amplifier board
(see drawing ET0303) are not used.
The calibration that follow are executed in the initial set-up of the instrument or in case of
substitution of the boards or the filters.
- Offset calibration
Enter Menù Service.

Enter Key Reading.
Select filter n° 0 (black).
Act on trimmer P2 (offset) placed on the optical amplifier board (see drawing ET0303) to obtain a
voltage of 0 Vdc on pin2 – pin 6 of J8 placed on the cpu board (see drawing ET0302).
- Gain calibration
Enter Menù Service.

Enter Reading Key.
Select the filter with the high value in mV (example: filter n°4 546 nm).
Act on trimmer P1 (gain) placed on the optical amplifier board (see drawing ET0303) to obtain a
voltage of 2.5 Vdc on pin 2 – pin 6 of J8 placed on cpu board (see drawing ET0302).
When the gain calibration is completed repeat the offset calibration.
Once the calibrations are executed it is necessary to execute again the AUTOCALIBRATION
PROCEDURE AND THE AUTOZERO PROCEDURE.

SUBSTITUTION OF THE LAMP
Turn off the instrument.

Open the cover of the instrument.
Unlock the lamp support unscrewing the screw and remove it.
Substitute the lamp without touching directly with the finger the new lamp.
We suggest to use a soft paper, like the optical one. During this operation make sure the new lamp
is perfectly inserted orthogonal inside its support.
Place again on its side the lamp support and screwing it gently.
Switch on the instrument.
Wait 10 minutes before performing the procedure of autocalibration.

Repeat the procedure of autocalibration to be sure that the value of the factors of amplification is
repeated.

F4 Auto-zero.
Press the aspiration switch to aspirate.

Press F5 to wash.
