SWOT ANALYSIS

Strengths:

Innovative: Very few local quality patisseries in Jabonga that offer cooking classes and
access to proven local pastry chefs.
Location: The location of the patisserie (Jabonga) is close to schools, a large Secondary
education campus and within close proximity of the Jabonga Municipality. The demographics
of the area show a high proportion of residents being from an local background (ref) meaning
there is a greater demand for the product, and the age and income breakdowns show that a
large portion of local residents have enough time and disposable income to make the offering
of cooking classes a viable option.
Friendly Seller: Our business will not only be marketed around the quality products, but also
the high standard of customer service. Service is extremely important in retaining and gaining
customers.
Limited Competitors: While there are a number of small cafes and patisseries around
Jabonga area, we believe that with the quality and differentiation of our products and the
level of customer rapport we will be distinguished from other competing business.
Diverse Selection of Products: Our business will offer an array of sweet pastries as well as
specialist cakes, meaning customers will not be disappointed with the range of products.
Open Customer Friendly Hours: Our business will be open from early in the morning until
late at night to cater for almost everyone's needs and wants. Early customers might include,
but are not limited to: parents picking up something for their kids/themselves before or after
school or attending cooking classes during the day or later at night, work commuters picking
up something to eat during the day, training pastry chef's coming in for lessons to further
their knowledge.

Ambience of Cafe: The interior decor and layout of the cafe will be very accessible for all
patrons and have a comforting feel.
Weaknesses:

Perceived Lack of Demand: Because of the number of cafe's in the area, business may be
tough initially.

Potentially Expensive supplies: The materials and other supplies are likely to be quite large as
our business operates long hours and requires a large input of energy to make the products.
The washing of equipment will also require a large amount of water.

Opportunities:

Online Retailing: Having an online site for businesses is almost a necessity in the current
business climate, and it would be a great way to advertise our products and possibly expand
our business. Catering opportunities can open from this.

Encouraging Cultural Growth: By having a truly jabongan business in an already local area of
jabonga can further develop the growth of the culture in surrounding areas.
Catering For local Taste: There is a high possibility that people in different places that will
visit to jabonga will be impressed with the quality of our products and they will remind them
of being 'back home'. By customers spreading the word of the quality we provide, there is the
chance that our business will thrive by the word of word of mouth from customer.
Ability to expand business and products (franchise, online retailing), catering for events (no
delivery), word of mouth/client base, expanding client base, encouraging cultural growth in
the area, catering for international taste and a potential to tourism.
Threats:

Competition- The area for the proposed new business has a large number of small patisseries,
which means a lot of competition. In order for our business to succeed in this monopolistic
environment, we will need to be unique and differentiate our service from that of competing
businesses. This can be done by the means of product selection, service methods and creating
a generally friendly, welcoming environment with nice décor.

Broad- A potential weakness is that the range of products and services offered may be too
broad to succeed as a small business.
Cost: Our business is going to need to turn over a large amount to be profitable. The cost of
purchasing top quality produce and bill will be expensive.

TARGET MARKET

The product will be market with in Jabonga, and kitcharao, Agusan del Norte.

rather than the healthiest choice.

SUMMARY EXPERIENCE

In a comprehensible sense, Business industries are developed to serve society, meet a

need, or provide a service. In this case, Jena’s Sweet Pastries will be a leading cakes and
cookies provider that shall serve a heathy and delicious product. The business aims to
generate income. However, what is important is the social responsibility it holds to the
public. A lot of Cafes and Pastries business are now spreading but most of the will end up
closing because of unable to achieve its goals and objectives.
With that being said, I have come to realize that solely relying to the purpose gaining
money in that make it profitable and successful. If you have one person with a great idea you
business is not the key to achieve success. There are many aspects of a business can make it
successful. Here I understand the important of corporate governance in business world.
Corporate governance makes companies more accountable and transparent to investors and
gives them the tools to respond to legitimate stakeholder concerns such as sustainable
environmental and social development. It contributes to development and increased access to
capital encourages new investments, boosts economic growth, and provides employment
opportunities. We make business to gain money but the primary purpose of helping the public
and economy as whole should not be neglected. As what you can observe in the income
statement, the business project 5 weeks sales that progressively increases 10%to 40% every
week. While the cost of goods sold will be remained 10% increase every week.
In overall, the idea is being able to realize that the value of a business plan is
important in the startup of an organization. The value of proper business plan in an
organization can determine if the organization will withstand over of time or for years to
come for that matter. Planning is all what it takes. Every action has its equal reaction.
everything is what indeed matter to your choices. Therefore, it’s up to you to make one.
