Tomorrow's Gadgets Today
Would you like a really different microwave oven? You don't have to have one like the one your mother
made do with years ago. The NE2932 is really up-to-date. For example, it has a USB port. You might
wonder why a microwave oven needs a USB port. You just hook it up to your computer and it tells you
when your food is ready. It also has a scanner that works with pre-packaged food. You just scan the code
on the package and the microwave automatically knows what temperature to use and how long to heat the
food. One of my favorite things about this microwave is that it works even when you aren't there. You
can program it to cook your food in the morning before you go to work. Just input the hour you want it to
begin and when you walk in the door in the evening, your dinner is waiting for you! The only problem
with the microwave is the price. It costs five times as much as a normal microwave.

(1) What is the NE2932? ___a microwave oven _________________

(2) Why does it have a USB port? ___to tell you when your food is ready_________________
