Abstract 1
Alternatives dispute resolution is one of the emerging methods for the speedy settlement of
pending cases amicably. Developing countries like India widely accepted and promoted this
unique way of adjudication. Looking at this situation Indian parliament enacted legal services
authority act, 1987 to promote ADR. In spite of the fact India has made a fair and transparent law
to promote ADR there is still some lacuna in law which researchers will deal in the paper.
This paper attempts to analyze and unearth the degree of implementation of this legal framework
since its enactment. An appraisal has been made by authors in this regard. Research question of
this paper revolves around very basic question that, whether ADR fails to give justice in a true
sense? Justice hurried is justice buried? Whether ADR helps in speedy disposal of pending cases
in judiciary. Researcher also tries to put light on types of ADR and its comparative study and
suggest a more practical way to implement policy and law.
