CONSTITUTION AND BY- LAWS

ARTICLE 1: NAME AND PURPOSE

The name of the organization shall be YOUNG HOTELIERS AND TOURISM SOCIETY
The purpose of the organization shall be:

1. To foster a deeper understanding of hospitality and tourism industry.


2. To enhance and develop the knowledge and skills of members pertaining to hospitality and tourism industry.
3. To create a dynamic, skilled and professional hoteliers, ground and flight stewardess, seafarers, bartenders and chefs leveling a global standard in
line with the hospitality and tourism industry.
4. To explore and learn more about world cultures, sightseeing attraction, lodging, destination and other important contribution hospitality and
tourism makes to society.
5. To hold forums, dialogues, discussions and seminars, openly exchanging ideas on relevant global and domestic industry’s topic, trends and issues.
6. To build community by involvement of travel related projects or by giving feedback through volunteerism.
ARTICLE II : MEMBERSHIP AND DUES

SECTION A: ELIGIBILITY – Membership shall be open to all students enrolled under the programs offered by the school under the umbrella of
Hospitality and Tourism as follows:

 BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN TOURISM MANAGEMENT

 BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN HOTEL RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT

 2 Yr. HOTEL AND RESTAURANT SERVICES

 1 YR. CULINARY ARTS

 1 YR. SEAFARERS RATING COURSE

 BARTENDING NCII

 BAKING AND PASTRY NCII

 FOOD AND BEVERAGE NCII

 HOUSEKEEPING NCII

 TOUR GUIDING NCII

 FRONT OFFICE NCII

SECTION B: DUES AND FEES – all students are required to pay ₱300.00 per semester as a standing fund of the college. Said amount will use to
organize seminar, procurement of student nameplate, and other department expenses. The membership fee is subject for change by the
majority of the officers and members of the organization with the review and approval of OFFICE of the Student Affairs and Services. 0.
ARTICLE III : OFFICERS

SECTION A: OFFICERS – the officers shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, 1 P.I.O and 2 Business Manager and Representative each
Year/course.
SECTION B: ELIGIBILITY – Officers must be a regular student carrying 20-27 units and in good academic standing.
SECTION C: ELECTION – the officers must be elected by the members of the organization.
SECTION D: TERM – Officers shall serve for 1 Academic Year and the term shall begin from the day they are elected.
SECTION E: VACANCY – If a vacancy occurs in the office of the president, the vice president shall assume the office for the remainder of the term and
vacancies in any other office shall be filled by a special election.
SECTION F: RECALL OF OFFICERS – Officers must be recalled due to the lack of attendance. 3 unexcused absences and failure due to properly execute
the duties and responsibilities assigned to them.

ARTICLE IV : DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS

SECTION A: PRESIDENT
 Preside the meeting
 Represent the Organization
 Appoint committee chairperson in ever event or activities.
 Perform other duties and responsibilities.
SECTION B: VICE- PRESIDENT
 Preside the meeting in the absence of the President.
 Assist the president in every event or activities.
 Serve as a chairperson on committees.
SECTION C: SECRETARY
 Record the minutes of meeting.
 Keep a file of the organizations’ record.
 Maintain a current roster of membership
 Issue notices of meeting and conduct general correspondence of the organization.
SECTION D: TREASURER
 Received all funds and process requests for funds.
 In charge of organizations fund raising.
 Keep an itemized account of all receipts and expenditures and make report as directed.
SECTION E: AUDITOR
 Audit of financial statement
SECTION F: P.I.O
 Spokesperson of the organization.
 Provide and disseminate updated information to members of the organization.
SECTION G: BUSINESS MANAGERS
 Develop and implement budget of the organization

ARTICLE V: MEETING

SECTION A: MEETINGS – regular meetings shall be held monthly during the regular school year.
SECTION B: SPECIAL MEETINGS – maybe called by the president with the majority of the officers.

ARTICLE VI : ADVISOR

SECTION A: SELECTION – there shall be a faculty staff adviser who shall be selected each year by the organization.
Duties:
 Maintain the awareness of the activities and programs sponsored by the student club.
 Meet on a regular basis with the leader of the organization to discuss upcoming range plans, goals, and problems of the organization.
 Assist in the orientation of the new officers.
 Explain and clarify school policy and procedure that apply to the organization.
 Maintain contact with the OSAS.
 Assist the treasurer in monitoring expenditures, fund raising activities and corporate sponsorship to maintain accurate and up to date account
ledger.
 Inform the members of those factors that constitute unacceptable behavior on the part of the members and the possible consequence of the
said behavior.

ARTICLE VII: AMENDMENTS


THESE BY LAWS MAYBE AMMENDED BY THE TWO THIRD VOTE OF THE MEMBERS. ALL MEMBERS SHALL RECEIVED ADVANCED NOTICED ON THE
PROPOSED AMENDMENT AT LEAST A WEEK BEFORE THE SET MEETING.
