1 Overview
1.1 Introduction
roduction
To comply with the further requirements for lower power consumption, smaller space
occupation and higher performance of products from operators, ZTE released the magic
series of RRUs, the new generation of SDR RRUs. Four types of RRUs, 1T2R ZXSDR
R8861, 2T2R ZXSDR R8862,
R8862 2T4R ZXSDR R8862A and 3T6R ZXSDR R8863 are
included in the series. In this
thi document, ZXSDR R8862 (hereinafter
after referred to as R8862)
is introduced.
R8862 is the latest ZTE outdoor remote RF unit (RRU) with two transmitters.
transmitter It supports
GSM, UMTS and LTE communication systems, featuring portable structure, high output
outp
power and easy installation. Based on ZTE new generation of RRU platform, With the
dual-PA design, R8862 can work in single GSM, UMTS or LTE single mode or
multi-mode in the same frequency band.
1.2 Benefits
By inheriting SDR structure and introducing new technologies, R8862 has only half the
volume of R8882, the previous generation of RRU, and full working bandwidth and high
power efficiency. The following part lists the key benefits for operators.
R8862, 12L
L in volume and 14 kg in weight, is the smallest 2T2R
2 RRU of 2*60W
output power in the industry.. The light and compact design enables it to be easily
carried and installed. The load bearing requirement
requirement for the tower or wall is reduced.
R8862
2 supports GSM, UMTS or LTE single or mixed technologies. Design of
R8862 2T2R channels ensures the smooth evolution of the system from
GSM/UMTS to LTE 2*2 MIMO. Instead of running hardware on independent
platforms for each technology, operators can implement various wireless
technologies by software configuration on the same hardware platform, such as
GSM+LTE in 1800MHz, or UMTS+LTE in 2100MHz. It decreases the investment
risk and offers more flexible operation strategies for operators.
R8862’s
’s improvement in materials and design of structure and modules, results in
higher PA efficiency and lower
lower power consumption than R8882.
R8882 The remarkable
decrease in power consumption effectively reduces the expenditure of power
supply equipment such as battery, and electric charges.
R8862 and
nd one base band unit
unit (BBU) form a complete BTS/NodeB, implementing radio
transmission in the covered area, controlling radio channels and realizing the
communication with the Base Station Controller (BSC/RNC). It supports indoor and
outdoor applications.
