Cassava farming is one of the most productive forms of farming in

Nigeria and in West African Countries. Cassava has over Ten (10)

benefits to man’s life. Cassava tuber is use for flour, the stem is used

for further planting, and the back of the cassava tuber is used to feed

animals in some places, cassava leaves are used for making soup e.g

Edo state of Nigeria.

WHAT WE OFFER TO CUSTOMERS

In cassava production, we produce and offer customers the following:

1. We produce Garri

2. Cassava flour

THE NEEDS OF CASSAVA FLOUR

1. In Nigeria as a whole, there is no single house you cannot

find cassava flour, some use the floor for drinking while

others use it as Eba others use it as Akpu in form of pounded

yam.

Almost 90% of bakery industries use Cassava flour for baking.

2
2. Some people like the Igbo people of Nigeria prefer Akpu to

pounded yam.

3. The back of cassava tubers are use to feed animals like goat,

sheep and pigs. Therefore, the needs of cassava are

numerous.

THE SIZE AND INCREASE DEMAND OF CASSAVA

PRODUCTS

The size and increase demand of cassava products in Nigeria and in

West Africa Countries is over 95% of all the foodstuff purchase per

day no family or mother goes to the market to shop without buying

Garri for the house or bread which is made up of cassava flour.

Also, almost average Nigeria who goes to the restaurant to eat Eba.

Therefore, the need for cassava in Nigeria is wide more than every

other foodstuff in Nigeria.

3
TO ACHIEVE THIS PROJECT THE FOLLOWING ARE

NEEDED

i. In cassava farming land is the most important aspect of

cassava farming not just anyhow land put a well rich

loaming soil.

ii. CAPITAL: capital is another area of cassava farming. If

you are going into commercial farming like I want to

venture into.

iii. LABOUR: Labour is needed and its very important to

employ two types of Labour here

1. Human Labour

2. Capital Labour

The Human Labour has to do with the managerial aspect of the

business, while the capital labour has to with the working Capital

and the farming work itself, which is the major work.

QUALIFICATION TO THE SUCCESS OF THIS BUSINESS

To have a certificate in Agriculture is not a bad idea to carry out or go

into Agriculture. However, in the case of cassava farming anybody

4
can do it, be successful in it because cassava farming is one of the

easiest form of farming even our illiterate father and mother has been

doing it in the village, and succeeding.

But not withstanding we need to employ some one who has

knowledge on cassava farming to supervise in the course of running

this business like somebody who has worked in a cassava farm more

than Ten (10) years of his life to manage the business.

CUSTOMERS NEEDS AND PREFERENCE

We are aware that every customer needs good service and

affordability of products. E.g low price, good packages, rich in taste,

texture of your product, to sell at the best lower price and affordable

price, prompt and effective delivery, best possible price and discount

offers.

TARGET CUSTOMERS / REGION

Our target is to ensure that every household of Nigeria and some

Neighboring countries get our products without season. But majorly, I

discovered people in the city surfer and spend more in the course of

purchasing this product from Retailers. So our focus is in the city.

5
The farming will be done in the village.

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGE OVER OUR COMPETITORS

To have an advantage over our competitors we have decide to put the

following in place and be committed to them no matter the

circumstances.

1. SUBSIDY: am ensuring the people of Nigeria a super

subsidy to make our product unique and affordable for all.

2. GOOD PACKAGING: our package will meet international

standard. Packaging is an essential aspect of marketing that

attract customers but some producers over look that aspect in

business.

3. SERVICE DELIVERY: prompt delivery of service to

customers help to win the heart of the customers, which we

will ensure that service delivery, will be well taken care of.

4. PROMOTIONS: promo is another area to gain upper hand

among other competitors. When others are saying buy five

(5) and get one (1), you can say buy three (3) and get one (1)

6
so that those that can’t buy five (5) and get one (1) can focus

their attention only.

MARKET

As stated earlier on, our market target caught across every household,

manufacturers, wholesaler, and Retail sellers.

However, our main focus is in the city centers where the salary

earners/ the income earners try to manage their meager salary

/income.

Company and Allied Matter Act. To do this, we will register the

business through the necessary steps.

customers our price range has to be the best in the market at all time.
