Productivity
Engine
A powerful engine ensures high performance.
Volvo excavator, powered by Cummins engines,
provide greater production by having higher
horse power and torque ratings than most other
major competitors.
These are low emission diesel engines, turbo
charged with high reserve capacity and
maximum torque. Their ratings are below the
maximum available horsepower levels to ensure
long running life and superb reliability.

Hydraulic system
Volvo Excavators have a
unique hydraulic system,
specifically designed for
power and performance. It’s
the Volvo-exclusive
ACS(Advanced Control
System). When an operator
chooses a Power mode, all systems are
automatically set to their most efficient positions.
ACS provides 4 distinct power modes with 9
different rpm settings and Power max mode.
These 4 power modes, “H”, “G”, “F” and “I” are
suited for any jobsite condition. The Power max
mode, activated with a special mode selection
switch delivers maximum engine power.
The Power boost mode allows increased
hydraulic system pressure by 10% for nine
seconds and this increased hydraulic pressure is
available to the boom, arm and bucket circuits.

Undercarriage

frame is made of high
tensile strength steel
with incredibly precise

welding techniques.
Even under the most extreme jobsite conditions,
Volvo excavators are built to last. The track pins
and bushings are lifetime lubricated and sealed to
reduce travel noise and extend track life, adding
even more value to the excavator.
There are many different shoe sizes available, and
for certain markets, a narrow long crawler version
is also available.
An automatic 2-speed travel system has proved
to be the fastest way to get around work sites.
However, when speed is not required and more
power is needed, first gear kicks in automatically.
First gear is also engaged while the excavator is
digging, to maintain stability.
Availability
Exceptional ease in service and maintenance is seen in every
detail of the Volvo excavator.
It is designed for operator convenience and most maintenance
can be done at ground level or from the service platform. Grease
points are conveniently located and grouped together for easy
service.
Tiltable oil coolers are used for fast easy clean out. Electrical
connectors are waterproof and automatic fan belt tensioners
extend belt life and reduce maintenance.
Jobsite productivity is further enhanced by the fact that our
excavators can work for two full shifts without having to refill
the large capacity fuel tank.
