I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:
• understand visual elements accompanying texts;
• improve comprehension when dealing with informative materials; and
• explain visual-verbal relationships illustrated in tables,graphs,and information maps
found in expository texts.
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of: East Asian literature as an art form
inspired and influenced by nature; relationship of visual, sensory, and verbal
signals in both literary and expository texts; strategies in listening to long
descriptive and narrative texts; value of literal and figurative language; and
appropriate grammatical signals or expressions suitable to patterns of idea
development.

IV.PROCEDURES
A. Introduction The learners will be led to study the infographic in SLM on page 6. They will analyze the
(1 day) data by answering the given questions. (refer to SLM p.6)
Goal Orientation
● Do the walkthrough of the lesson expectations.
● In this part, the content of the lesson will be presented.
● Learning objectives will also be introduced to guide the learners on the learning
targets founded on KSAV principles
B. Development Learning Task 1:
(3 days) In their answer sheet, the learners will choose the letter of the correct answer in each
statement.(see page 7 in SLM)

Learning Task 2:
The learners will study the pie chart (refer to SLM page 7). In their answer sheet, they will
write their answers to the given questions.

CONCEPT DISCUSSION (VISUAL-VERBAL RELATIONSHIPS)


(refer to SLM pages 8-9)

Learning Task 3:
The learners will match the data samples in Column A with their best graphical
representations in Column B. (refer to SLM page 10)

C. Engagement Learning Task 4:


(2 days) The learners will study the graphic (refer to SLM page 10) They will discuss in one
paragraph the content of the enrolment update presented in the graphic.
Learning Task 5: The learners will read the graphical representation and the text then will
answer the questions that follow (refer to SLM page 11).
Learning Task 6:
The learners will identify the steps that they and their family take to keep themselves
COVID-19-free. They will create a flowchart specifying those steps,then write a paragraph
discussing the content of their flowchat.
D. Assimilation Learning Task 7:
(2 days) The learners will cut and copy paste the latest COVID-19 case news bulletin in the country
or in their locality, then they will make a pictograph showing the data from the material
gathered. (refer to SLM page 12)

They will fill in the blanks with the correct terms relevant to what they have learned from
the lesson. They will choose from the word pool and write it in their answer sheet. refer
to SLM page 12)
