INAUGURAL You have a podcast, a book club, and now you are doing a newsletter? Why? It is
simple. -- It is the connection for us! Connecting with your audience, your friends,

your supporters, and future supporters is essential. Not everyone is going to sit down
and watch us on our Youtube Channel. Nor is everyone is going to listen to the audio
podcast (or even know about it).

But individuals can take a moment out of their day -- once a month -- to view, read,
and hopefully share our newsletter. Signing up only takes the click of a button. We
would love to hear from you. Tell us what you would like to see in the newsletter.
Perhaps you would like to contribute (or promote in the newsletter). Let's help each
other be continuously discovered because we are all trying to make our mark in this
world. Please do me a favor and share this with at least one person! It is greatly
appreciated. HIT US UP & CONNECT WITH US - Hit the pics (links) on the left!

R&B vs. Rap

WRITTEN BY D CLAUDIO

How do people compromise in households when everyone loves different genres of

music? This section has been created to highlight our love for music and how we all
find ways to compromise.

Sean and Davion are father and son. Sean loves R&B , Davion loves Rap . Sean
considers the new Rap music to be loud, with people rambling over the same beats.
Davion, on the other hand, considers R&B to be too slow and boring.

R&B R&B

So how do they compromise? The two describe it as not being easy. Still, they have
managed to come to an agreement. That agreement allows Davion to listen to his
music in his room (with reasonable volume) or simply put his headphones on. While
Sean doesn't care because he pays the bills , he can play his music as loud as
possible. In the car, Davion plays his music on his headphones, but sometimes Sean
SONGS OF THE allows him to choose. But most of the time, you will find Sean blasting his music
MONTH: while driving and singing up a storm. LOL.

GET YOU
SOMEBODY NEW You might say not much of a compromise, huh? But here's the beauty of it -- both of
BY LABELLE them are satisfied!! We know you have the same issues sometimes. LOL! We decided
to highlight each one's favorite song from their respective genres each month. We
~V.~ would like you to vote which song is better each month. It's easy to participate.
Simply hit us up by clicking one of the links from the first page (I think it's secretly an
FIRST DAY OUT internal gratification for them if their music is chosen, LOL). Or, if you want us to
BY TEE GRIZZLEY highlight a song of your choice, we can do that too!!!. Interact with us, don't be shy 😉 .
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small
men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been
given than to explore the power they have to change it.
Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not
a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential.
Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ MUHAMMAD ALI
Why Do they Get A Month?
THE QUESTION SHOULD BE - WHY DON’T I KNOW MORE THAN I DO ABOUT THE
AFRICAN AMERICAN (BLACK) PLIGHT?
The past is not always the distant past. Simply QUICK FACTS:
ignoring something does not mean that it does not Carter G. Woodson (father of Black History Month)
exist. Watering down or completely removing John Mercer Langston (first Black lawyer barred in
programs focused on educating our society on black Ohio in 1854)
history (i.e., Forsyth County ) does not eradicate black Hiram Rhodes Revels (first Black elected to the U.S.
folks’ contributions. It is only temporary and a dare Senate, representing Mississippi from 1870-71)
to push yourself to learn what you don’t know Shirley Chisholm (first Black female elected to U.S.
about these contributions. So, the Café offers this House of Representatives representing NY in 1968 &
then the first Black female candidate [and female
dare: do better, learn more, and embrace the fact
for that matter] to run for President)
that Black folks — like many other cultures —
Hattie McDaniel (first Black performer to win

Academy Award for Gone With the Wind )

To be clear, we only need to walk the nation’s

enslaved — built the White House, the U.S. Capitol,
and many other government buildings.
