Human Resource Management at Jamia has a distinct teaching methodology. The
Department aims at inculcating the essential knowledge and skills for managing
human resources effectively. The process of learning is interactive, best facilitated
by different components like group conferences, field work, tests, PDP and
presentations.
Evolving from M.A. Social Work with specialization in IRPM i.e. Industrial Relations
and Personal Management, M.A. Human Resource Management was introduced
in 1993 in the wake of the New Economic Policy to respond to the demands of the
newly emerging industrial environment.
The Programme provides students with the necessary foundations and advanced
skills of a career in this growing field. M.A. Human Resource Management
provides the students with the opportunity to study Human Resource
Management right from the first semester and relate theories with practice
through its unique 2500 hrs of fieldwork.
Fieldwork is spread across four semesters in corporate and plants providing our
students ample industry exposure. The students have the opportunity to apply
their knowledge in the field placement under the guidance of a faculty supervisor
and this intensive six-month industrial training substantiates the theoretical base
imparted in the classroom.
The students interact with corporate leaders on a regular basis and through their
experiences learn about the developments in areas of human resource
