contains 12 pieces of white chocolate. Each package B contains 20 pieces of dark chocolate. The
number of packages A bought by Hailey is 20% less than the number of packages B bought by her.
She buys 444 pieces of chocolate in total.

(a) Find the total number of packages A and packages B bought by Hailey.
(b) Find the ratio of the number of pieces of white chocolate bought to the number of pieces of
dark chocolate bought.

9. A solid metal sphere is melted and recast into a solid right circular cone of height h1 cm and a solid
right circular cylinder of height h2 cm. The volumes of the circular cone and the circular cylinder are
the same. The base radii of the circular cone and the circular cylinder are both r cm.

10. The cost $C of organizing a training camp is the sum of two parts. One part varies directly as the
number of participants x and the other part varies directly as the number of instructors y. When
x = 10 and y = 3, C = 4 550; when x = 16 and y = 4, C = 6 760.

15. In a game, the score and the standard score of Billy are 13 and 1.5 respectively. It is given that the
mean and the standard deviation of the scores in the game are x and 2 respectively.

people in the front row is 5. Find the number of ways of arrangements that can be made if
2 particular people do not stand in the same row. (2 marks)

(b) In a basketball shooting game, Eric and Jason take turns to make shots until one of them
makes a successful shot. The one who first makes a successful shot wins the game. Eric
makes a shot first. Assume that the probabilities that Eric and Jason make successful shots are
0.3 and 0.4 respectively, and the outcomes of their shots are independent.

(i) Find the probability that Eric wins the game.
