Analysis:
1. What are some of the changes in the educational landscape in the
21st century that you can identify. Explain your answer.

The changes in the educational landscape in the 21 st century are the


digital age, individual and behavioral development, and collaboration
among learners. Such factors have indeed altered the education
landscape of this recent century due to the recent developments of
technologies. Teachers, as well as institutions have extended
tremendous efforts to go along with the digital age to provide globally
competent individuals who will mold the society and provide for its
betterment. 21st century education has been greatly influenced with the
digital era which have also affected the ways students develop their
skills and behavior. Such has provided great changes because
traditional methods tend to become obsolete.
2. How do these changes affect the teacher and the teaching
profession?

These changes affect the teacher and the teaching profession in a way
wherein all of the educational interactions tend to occur with the use of
media and technology. With this, teachers, as well as students need to
adjust to become equipped with the use of these different technologies
which is far from what was experienced in the traditional learning
methods.

3. Based on your activity, identify the top three most important


qualities a 21st century teacher should possess. Explain your
answer.

1. Technical/Vocational skills
2. Apply the use of technology in classroom
3. Constructivism approach
These are the three most important qualities a 21 st century teacher
must possess because these three allow a teacher to genuinely teach
ethically diverse 21st century learners and greatly provide impact to
their knowledge and character building.

T – Technology literacy, knowledge deepening, and knowledge creation are
the necessary competencies and standards every 21 st century teacher should
possess.
E – Every 21st century teacher should possess the necessary competencies
and standards: technology literacy, knowledge deepening, and knowledge
creation.
A – Accountability and clear standards, along with using broad pedagogies,
great understanding of local and global cultures, and the skillful use of
assessment are few of the characteristics of the new type of teacher in 21 st
century education.
C – Changes in the 21st century education includes new learning
environment, new learning contents, new process and facilitation of learning,
new types of learners, and new types of teachers.
H – Having social and Cross-cultural skills is one of the characteristics of a
new type of learner along with being flexible, adaptive, self-directed,
productive, accountable, has leadership and is responsible.
E – Education reform has been formulated by UNESCO based on human
capacity development as an approach to 21 st century.
R – Reform on education in the 21st century approach includes the six
components of education system namely: namely: policy, curriculum,
pedagogy, Information, and Communications Technologies (ICTs),
organization, and teacher training.
