grasp another idea which allows for changes to occur, and thus,
developmental transformation.

transformative education.

Transformative education is made out of new information from adjusted

thinking which provides fundamental change and empowers learners to
be agents of change in the social world.

Analysis:
1. Based on your activity, what is the concept of transformative
education? Why is it important in the 21 st century teaching and
learning?

Transformative education is important in the 21 st century teaching and

learning because it allows learners to reflect on their own learning and
then adjust on it to gain new knowledge which could be an avenue for
their social and developmental transformation as individuals of the
society.

2. How can a teacher foster transformative thinking?

A teacher can foster transformative thinking through encouraging

learner support and by including role playing activities, simulations, and
other art-based or performance-based activities in the classroom.

Bumper Sticker Slogan:

“Education seeks to transform lives.”
This bumper sticker means that education aims to change lives of individuals,
that with education, what was impossible yesterday, could be possible today.
Education has been deemed a key to success which no other being could
take away from you. If people seek to be educated, then lives would alter,
from poverty to wealth, and from weak to strong.
Application:

recognize Rizal’s efforts for the country and make them realize that they too,
on their own little ways could contribute to the society, or even the country.
Scenario 2:
A teacher uses guided questions in presenting topic to students.
Explanation:
With transformative learning, students will be able to enhance not only
their memory but also their creative and critical thinking skills in answering the
teacher’s queries.
Scenario 3:
The students are to write an essay about an environmental issue in
their community.
Explanation:
With transformative education, students will be able to observe what
occurs within their surroundings and might as well think of or contribute
solutions to the on-going issues of the society.
