To make this pattern you will need to know how to :


begin with a magic ring l chain l slip stitch l single crochet l half
double crochet l increase l invisible decrease l work BLO l work in
continuous rounds

GAUGE AND FINISHED SIZE :

Gauge is not essential for this project : you can use any size of hook
you want as long as your yarn choice is consistent with it. Just be careful
to work tight stitches so as the stuffing doesn't show through.

(or any other size consistent with the yarn you chose to make the main parts)

LEGS :

(make 2 using yellow and white yarn)

Start with yellow yarn

R1: MR6 (6)


R2 : inc around (12)

Change to white yarn

R7 : BLO slst around (12)


R8 - 12 : sc around (12)

ÌÌ First leg :
R13 : sc 2 and move stitch marker here (this is where you are going to join second
leg).
FO, cut yarn & weave in ends.

ÌÌ Second leg :
R13 : sc 2, move stitch marker here, ch2 join in the first leg’s last stitch,
sc around 1st leg, sc2 in chan, sc around 2nd leg back to stitch marker

FO, leave long tail for sewing.

Pin on the middle of the face between R49&52.

With yellow yarn, embroider nostrils.

EARS :

(make 2 using white yarn)
R1 : ch4
R2 : 2hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in next ch, slst in last ch. On the other
side of chain, slst1, sc in next, 2hdc in last st.

Close with a slst, FO, leave long tail for sewing.

HORN :
(with yellow yarn)
R1 : MR3
R2 : sc3 (3)
R3 : inc ar (6)
R4 : sc around (6)
R5 : *inc, sc* x3 (9)

FO, leave long tail & sew on forehead between R49 & 52.

EYES :
(make 2 with black & blue yarn)

Start with black yarn

R1 : MR6 (6)

Change to blue yarn

R2 : *2slst in next stitch, slst1*x3 (9)


R3 : *inc, sc2* x3 (12)
R4 : slst around (18)

FO, leave long tail for sewing.

Embroider detail on eyes with white yarn.

ARMS :

Change to white yarn

R7 : BLO slst around (12)


R8 : sc around (12)
R9 : *dec, sc1* x4 (8)
R10 -17 : sc around (8)

FO, leave long tail for sewing.

Align top of each arm on R26 of the body, pin and sew on place.

TAIL :
(make 3 with rainbow yarn)

R1 : ch 21
R2 : from 2nd ch from hook, sc2 in each ch back to 1st stitch. End row with
a slst to secure it.

FO, leave long tail for sewing at the back of your unicorn.

HAIR :
(make 7 with rainbow yarn)

Follow tail instructions but instead of starting with a 21 chain :


ÌÌ make 1 with a 26 starting chain (for top of the head, coming on face)
ÌÌ make 2 with a 31 starting chain
ÌÌ make 2 with a 36 starting chain
ÌÌ make 2 with a 41 starting chain

FO, leave long tail for sewing at the back of your unicorn, placing the smallest ones
above. And of course feel free to add more if you want !
