Client List of Values (LOV) Profile Options for Search Logic .............. 45
We’ve taken the employee and manager self-service pages to the next level by redesigning them to look and behave the
same on desktop and mobile devices. We’ve also changed the look and feel of the pages to provide a better experience
for end users.
Note: In the images or examples included in this document regarding: user details, company names, addresses, emails, and/or
telephone numbers represent a fictitious sample of data (based upon made up data used in a demo environment). Any
similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.
Contact Information Page on a Mobile Device Contact Information Page on the Desktop
Pages and messages look more modern and use simpler, more conversational language so that you can more easily
read and understand content across all devices.
The pages are clutter-free and clean and display only those fields that are required to complete the task. You can
personalize the pages and add more fields that are hidden by default.
• The steps to enable the profiles for the new HCM Redesigned Cloud User Experience. You will need to set an
HCM profile and then the responsive profile of the products and features you require.
• The security privileges you will need to have in order to see and perform actions in the Redesigned User
Experience.
• Documentation on tools that are available to change the display of your responsive pages, such as: displaying
hidden fields or hiding displayed fields. This enables you to configure the pages to work best for you.
• Information on Deep Links and Client LOV Profile Options for Search Logic
For more information on Responsive Pages you can refer to the following:
• What’s New documents from 18B – latest release located on the Release Readiness site. 18B – 18C you will
find the features on the HCM Common What’s New by product. 19C and after you will find the features in
the What’s New for your product.
• User, Administration and Implementing guides - have additional product specific documentation on
Responsive pages. You can find these in the Oracle Help Center.
To use the redesigned user experience pages, you must first enable the HCM_RESPONSIVE_PAGES_ENABLED required
profile option and set the Site level value to Y. After reviewing the redesigned features if you want to add a feature to
your applications, you will need to also enable the profiles defined for that feature. You can use the same setup steps
below for the global enablement, as well as for the product or feature enablement’s that you choose to add.
As product features are released, details of the profile options to create and enable will be in the associated What’s New
documentation, as well as this document.
NOTE: Because these are new pages, any personalizations made to the previous pages will not be applied to the new
pages. You will need to review the new pages and make any needed personalizations for these pages.
You must enable the HCM_RESPONSIVE_PAGES_ENABLED profile option by following the steps below:
Field Value
Profile Option HCM_RESPONSIVE_PAGES_ENABLED
Code
You must follow the process to globally enable the redesigned features, as well as to enable specific product features.
To enable the profile option, navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area:
1. Search for and click the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
2. Search for and select the HCM_RESPONSIVE_ENABLED profile option, or other profile options you are
enabling.
3. Select the Level as Site.
4. Enter a Y in the Profile Value field.
5. Click Save and Close.
This section addresses profile options to be enabled to use the new product features redesigned user experience.
New customers starting with release 19D or a later release can skip this section. New redesigned responsive pages
are the delivered by default to your environments.
To enable the redesigned pages, you must enable the profile options in the tables below. Use the steps documented in
the Steps to Enable Profile Options in the beginning of this document to learn how to enable the profile options.
Reminder: After you enable the new profile options, earlier corresponding versions of the pages are no longer available.
Your users will interact with only the redesigned pages.
NOTE: Some features may have additional setup required. Please see the What’s New for these features to see the
details on additional setups needed.

Absence Management for employee and manager self-service no longer supports classic pages where there is a
responsive equivalent page. As such there are no profiles to enable. All self-service Absence responsive pages have
automatically been switched to Responsive pages. For a complete list of page changes see the Workforce Management

for new mobile responsive pages on your intranet, a custom or third-party application, or in a document so employees
can quickly access their HR information or initiate transactions in HCM Cloud.
New deep links are being added regularly. Check the application for what's currently available.

Function security privileges and aggregate privileges secure access to lists of values in the responsive user experience
pages. Predefined job and abstract roles inherit these privileges. If you’re using the predefined roles, then no action is
necessary. If you’re using both the responsive user experience pages and custom versions of relevant roles, then you
must add these privileges to your custom roles. Please review the Privileges Securing Lists of Values in Responsive User
Experience Pages topic in chapter 23 of the Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud
Securing HCM guide located in the Oracle Help Center. This topic identifies the privileges, the lists of values that they
secure, and the predefined roles that inherit them.
Client LOVs use the "contains" logic and return results containing the characters you enter. You can optionally change
this logic to "starts with" for individual LOVs to return results that start with the characters instead. For example, if you
search for the worker "John Smith", when the LOV logic is "contains", you can search by "jo" or "smi" or "th". When the
LOV logic is "starts with", your search must start with "j". A "starts with" logic will improve performance and should be
used when your list contains thousands of values (usually 15,000 or more records) or you do not partition your data by
set ID. SRs logged for performance issues when using "contains" logic will be closed with a resolution to use "starts
with".
Changing the search logic for a client LOV changes the logic in all pages where the LOV is used.
Use the following profile options to change the search logic for a client LOV.
Shared Goals Adding shared goals HRG_LOV_SEARCH_SHAREDGOALS_STARTSWITH (Site level value is delivered as Y)
Roles PER_LOV_SEARCH_ROLES_STARTSWITH
Oracle Social Network is not compatible with the Redesigned User Experience pages.
• Identify which fields are displayed, conditionally displayed, or hidden in the products.
• Understand the delivered parameters to define your own rules to display or hide fields conditionally.
By default the responsive user experience pages display the frequently used fields and hide the less frequently used
fields.
You can personalize the responsive pages using the Transaction Design Studio to display or hide fields and sections in a
redesigned flow, and specify whether a displayed field is required or not. To do this:
For information on how to personalize mobile pages using the Transaction Design Studio, refer to the following:
• The Transaction Design Studio -What It Is and How It Works (Document 2504404.1) in My Oracle Support
Additionally, you can use Page Composer if the visibility of fields cannot be controlled using Transaction Design
Studio. For information on how to personalize pages using Page Composer, refer to the following:
• Read the Oracle Applications Cloud: Configuring and Extending Applications Guide
• For more information on how to personalize the Human Resources application pages you can review some
short videos in Cloud Customer Connect in the HCM Configuration Solutions center.
Rules Parameters
High-level details for a rule including required attributes Name and Description, and criteria that determine when and
for whom the rule is applicable. Parameters vary for each action. Only parameters applicable to the selected action are
available to set. Setting parameters is optional; you can set all or none of the parameters. The application ignores the
criteria for blank parameters when evaluating the rule at runtime.
These parameters are displayed based on the action selected with multiple choice selection for some parameters.
• Role: Select the user security roles performing the action or viewing the page. The list includes delivered out-of-
the-box security roles and customized roles.
• Legal Employer: Select the legal employers.
For more information on displayed and hidden fields see your products User, Administration and implementing guides in the
Oracle Help Center.
