Type 0 Conditional: expresses a general truths, laws of nature, things


which are always true
You can see lions if you go in Africa.

Type 1 Conditional: expresses a probable situation which is likely to


happen in the present or future
e.g. If I have time, I will take up a sport.

afirmativ

Type 2 Conditionals

Past Simple Present Conditional


If I studied hard, I would pass my exams with flying colours.
(Daca as invata, mi-as lua examenul)

Type 2 Conditional: expresses an imaginary or improbable situation


which is unlikely to happen in the present or future
e.g. If I had time, I would take up a sport.
If I were you, I would be more polite. expresses advice

we use “were” instead of “was” for all persons


“was”- is informal

(Daca as fi invatat, mi-as fi luat examenul)

Type 3 Conditional: expresses an imaginary or improbable situation in


the past; that is, it refers to past situations that did not happen

SUPPOSING (sa presupunem), OTHERWISE (altminteri), ONLY IF
(doar daca), WHAT IF (ce ar fi daca), EVEN IF (chiar daca), IN CASE
(in caz ca), BUT FOR

Inversiunea in If Clause

Should se foloseste când situaţia este puţin probabil sa se intâmple

Type 2: If I were you, I would be always honest.
