An Overview…
DHAI Army Public School (APS) is based on 4 campuses; pre-school campus, junior
campus and the senior campus at Sector-G, Sector-B, Sector - D and Sector-F, Phase-
II, DHA Islamabad, respectively. The School enrolls students from Play Group to
Grade X and collage enrolls the students of IX and XII. School and college are part of
the Army Public School and College Secretariat.

The Army Public Schools and Colleges, because of their quality education have earned
enviable status and reputation among the institutions of their kind in Pakistan. The
DHAI Army Public School & college aims to imparting quality education to children
under clean and healthy environment, conducive to learning. It follows policies and
guidelines given in National Education Policy and directives issued by Army Public
Schools and College System Secretariat, in letter and spirit. Due emphasis is laid on
character building and personality development of the children. The DHAI Army
Public School & College is an established institution, which fosters learning
environment and focuses in individualizing students need and creating a community of
character.

Principal Message

Army Public School DHA Phase-II is a unique


educational project in its kind providing extraordinary
care and education with sense of own-ness to the
child. Its uniqueness lies in providing ideal
environment for development and enrichment of latent
faculties of the students and for their individual and
collective uplift.
I hope this school prospectus will provide a clear idea
of the values instilled and the opportunities provided
at APS DHAI Phase II. I am very grateful to Almighty
Allah that in a short span of time, the institution has
earned a respectable and good reputation in
academics, sports and co-curricular activities. We will
try to achieve (INSHAALAH) the main objectives of
our school through the dedicated and sincere efforts of
the administration and the staff. The main focus of our
efforts is personal grooming and character building of
the students
This will only be possible by our dedicated, self-
disciplined and devoted faculty. Army Public School
DHA Phase-II is the fast growing institution of the
area and the Pakistan in future.
I want to convey my feelings to the community and
assure them that I and my team of professionals will
leave no stone unturned in maintaining and uplifting
the Islamic and ethical values of our students along
with imparting modern education to them. I sincerely
undertake that I and my team will work round the
clock in uplifting the education standard of the school
and ultimately of the area.
In addition to the work carried out in the classrooms, various clubs and societies are
present to promote extra-curricular activities coupled with all types of sports. These
facilities will groom the students towards achieving personal excellence which is an
essential trait of responsible citizens.
The cumulative effect of all this is a comprehensive regime of development of a
balanced personality with high character and confidence. APS DHAI Phase -II is no
doubt a unique and exciting educational experience.
I look forward, along with my staff, to welcome you and your child to ARMY PUBLIC

Features
The School has a qualified and professional teaching staff. The teaching faculty
consists of both males and females, best suited for teaching children of all
classes. The members of the teaching staff are all devoted and dedicated, imbued
with missionary zeal.

The syllabus of Army Public Schools along with policies and guidelines
provided by National Education Policy and APSACS Secretariat shall be
followed in letter and spirit.

Textbooks prescribed in the institution for “Playgroup to Grade XII” are same as
laid down for all Army Public Schools by the APSACS Secretariat and Federal
Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

Excursion and academic trips shall be arranged periodically without disturbing


the study periods as part of informative and entertainment program for the
students. Outdoor Physical activities such as sports and games shall be regularly
organized for the students to provide them opportunity to develop their physical
skills.

Following combinations are being offered at collage:

 School & College is affiliated with the Federal Board of Intermediate and
Secondary Education.
 Performance of students during the year is closely monitored by the
teachers through class work, homework, spot tests and co-curricular
activities.
 Physical Training and games periods are organized under the supervision
of trained staff.
 One period a week has been reserved for co-curricular activities such as
quiz competitions, essay competitions, speeches, debates etc.
 One period a week has been reserved for developing reading culture in
students.

Admission Policy
Admission to all classes shall be granted on the basis of eligibility and merit
through entrance test, normally carried out in March/ April each year. The results
shall be approved by Executive Committee or Principal.

Following are eligible for admission:

 Wards of DHAI residents


 Wards of serving/ retired army personnel
 Wards of serving/ retired personnel of sister services
 All others

School Section
Application for admission on prescribed form attached at the end of this
brochure shall be submitted to the institution on due dates.

Procedure for Admission


Names of the candidates seeking admission to various classes are registered with
the institution. Program of the tests is notified on the institutions’ Notice Board.
Tests are administered only for the classes in which vacancies exist. Tests will
cover the following subjects for KG to Class X:

Notes
 Candidates are required to pass all the subjects with 50% qualifying marks
to compete for the merit.
 After the test, waiting list is maintained in order of merit which is valid up
to the next test.
 Names of selected candidates and those placed on waiting list are put on
the Institutions’ Notice Board and admission formalities are to be
completed within the specified period.

System of Examination
Academic calendar of the Institution is divided into two terms. At the end of
each term, written tests are given to the students and detailed report showing the
results and overall performance of each student is sent to the parents. Each exam
is followed by Parent-Teacher meeting to discuss the performance of students
with their parents.
First Term (PG-X) – April- October

Second Term (PG-X) – November- March

First Term (XI-XII) – August-December

Second Term (XI-XII) – January - March

Students who fail in two subjects in the Home Annual Examination will not be
promoted to the next class or will not be allowed to remain on the rolls of the
School.

Note:

 Saturdays will be observed as closed holidays. However, last Saturday of


the month may be used for Parent Teacher Meeting.
 If required, Saturdays can be utilized for class IX and X syllabus
coverage.

Discipline & Conduct

Mobile Phones are


strictly Not Allowed

 The institution demands a high order of punctuality and regularity from the

students.

 Students must reach school at least 5 minutes before the morning assembly.

 Leave application must be submitted in writing before morning assembly, if the

student has to be absent.

 Absence without intimation for a period of more than one week will render a

student liable to be withdrawn/ expulsion from the institution.

 Any student coming late in the morning will be marked absent for the day.

 Failure to submit application for leave will render a student to fine of Rs. 50/- per

day.

 Students suffering from contagious diseases are not permitted to attend the

Institution.

 The Institution in no way is responsible/ accountable for loss of books, equipment,

and money or valuable lost by the students.

 Students should not bring expensive watches, pens and calculators etc to the
Institution.
 Students are not allowed to see visitors in the Institution.
 No students can invite any outsider in the School without prior permission of the
Principal.

 Consent of the parents for excursion or educational trips arranged by the School is
asked in writing, the School takes no responsibility for any damage during such
trips.
 No sectarian or political functions are permitted to be held by the students in the
School premises.

Following offences can render a student liable to disciplinary action as


deemed appropriate by the Discipline Committee.

 Indiscipline, cheating, stealing or immoral conduct.

 Breaking Institutions’ bounds.

 Rudeness to staff.

 Keeping fire arms and other lethal weapons.

 Willfully damaging Institution’s property.

 Being habitually untidy, unpunctual and neglecting Institutions’ orders.

 Showing consistently poor performance in academics.

 Leaving Institutions’ premises without proper permission.

 Smoking and using narcotics.

 Any other offence deemed to be serious enough by the Institutions’

Discipline Committee.

Facilities
Medical Facilities:
School maintains a proper “Sick Room” under Nursing Staff. First Aid
facilities and medicines of emergency nature are available at the “Sick
Room”.

Winter and Summer Amenities:


Class rooms, offices and staff rooms are provided with gas heaters
during winters. The school has electric water coolers to meet the
requirements of cold water during summers.
Library:

The School has a fairly well stocked and well equipped library.

The school has well equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology

Laboratories.

Computer Lab:

The school has well equipped Computer Laboratories for junior and

senior classes

Sports:

Adequate arrangements for play area and sports for Junior and

Senior campuses are available.

Cafeteria/ Tuck Shop:

Light refreshment along with snacks and other eatables are available

in the tuck shop.

Our Achievements
APS DHAI has four campuses in DHA Phase II Islamabad; the Preschool campus, Junior school
campus, Senior school girls campus, Senior school Boys campus. In recognition of the
outstanding hard work done in the schools, APS DHAI-II has been awarded 12 awards by
APSACS Secretariat.
