Is it the effectivity of the method or how people responses on it?

Education has been a key part to the society since the beginning , without it , we would still be outside living
primitively. It is a continuous process that is interrelated to our lives , removing it would be a threat to our
society. That’s the reason why we are still doing any means to have access on education amidst pandemic.
However , is the method we are using now are effective? Does it give motivation to the students to comply ? It
is a controversy to all of us.

Every students learns differently and has their own ways of processing information. Some can study all by
themselves while the others can’t . Modular and online learning is very challenging for everyone. In the online
setting , it’s hard for other students to focus due to their environment and will choose to sleep or do another
things. On the other hand , while doing modular activities , most of them research the answers cause they
can’t study the topic by themselves. Some chose to apply for a job or do household choirs instead of studying .

There are lots of problems continuously arises in distance learning. Although the first semester has ended ,
there are still students who’s struggling to their internet connection and gadgets. Distance learning is
somehow effective to those who are privilege enough to have access on it . There is evidence that learning
online is effective in other ways . According to World Economic Forum “Some research shows that on average,
students retain 25-60% more material when learning online compared to only 8-10% in a classroom. This is
mostly due to the students being able to learn faster online; e-learning requires 40-60% less time to learn than
in a traditional classroom setting because students can learn at their own pace, going back and re-reading,
skipping, or accelerating through concepts as they choose.” But the number of advantageous students is very
minimal. According to them , some students without reliable internet access and/or technology struggle to
participate in digital learning , this gap is seen across countries and between income brackets within countries.
For example, whilst 95% of students in Switzerland, Norway, and Austria have a computer to use for their
schoolwork, only 34% in Indonesia do, according to OECD data.

Modular and online learning just became a responsibility for them without enjoying it . All they do is answers
the activities and comply with the requirements without even learning nor being educated which is the very
essence of education.

As education is an essential part of our life , we can’t remove it to our routine. Although we are still in culture
shock and currently adapting to the new normal we must not take education for granted. All of us are ought
to do our part as students , teachers , government and parents . We must do our responsibility to have a
quality education amidst what happening . Teachers must give enthusiasm to his/her method of online
teaching . Parents should guide their children at home or make sure give better advices to them . Students as
well must stay motivated and participate on their activities and comply with integrity and honesty . The
effectivity of the method cannot be left alone to one party .We can make the method of teaching effective if
we do it together accordingly . With the help of each other , everthing will follow on what it is suppose to be.
