“A study to assess the effect of health teaching on knowledge regarding


nipple abnormality among the primigravida mother in civil hospital,
Mehasana”

The completion of the dissertation certainly was not due to our effort
alone but comes from the assistance of all the people in our life who have
supported us through the year. It is because of all of you that we are one step close
to the career, we have always wanted.

Firstly, we are grateful to almighty god whose grace, unconditional


love and blessing accompanied us throughout the study.

We would like to thank Dr. Dayalal D Patidar, Principal of Joitiba


College of nursing Bhandu, for giving us the opportunity to study in this
institution and providing us all the help needed for all of the academic challenges
and for the encouragement, motivation, support, feedback and regular schedule
meetings.

Chodhary, M.sc nursing in child health nursing, Joitiba College of nursing,
Bhandu. He gives us great pleasure to record a word of appreciation and extend
our hearty and unlimited thanks. He has put his heart and soul, showing enormous

suggestion helped in the faithful outcome of this study.

ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT

Introduction – “ Breast feeding is a mother’s gift to herself, her baby


and the earth”

Objectives –

1.To assess the knowledge regarding nipple abnormalities among primigravida


mothers.

2. To evaluate the effect of health teaching regarding nipple abnormalities among


primigravida mothers.

3. To find out the association between knowledge score and selected demographic
variable.

Assumption - 1.Primigravida mothers may have less knowledge regarding


nipple abnormalities

2.Health teaching may enhance the knowledge of primigravida mother regarding


nipple abnormalities.

Design - Quasi experimental one group pre test post test research design

Participation –30 primigravida mother were select to assess using pre test
post test sampling technique in Civil hospital of Mehsana .
Tools – Self structured questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge
regarding nipple abnormalities primigravida mother

Results – in this study overall highest percentage in the demographic data


including the age group 20-25 and above (57%), Hindu religion (74%), primary
education (54%), majority have no previous knowledge (76.6%).

Over all pre test mean score which is (4.83%) in primigravida mother had poor
knowledge whereas in post test mean score (15.36%) which indicates the senior
citizens had effectiveness of planned teaching.

Conclusion – Majority of primigravida mother have knowledge regarding


nipple abnormalities
