early skin-to-skin contact

Keeping the mother and baby in uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact prevents
hypothermia, hypoglycemia and sepsis, increases colonization with
protective bacterial flora and improved breastfeeding initiation and
exclusivity

Place the baby unto mother’s abdomen or chest with a prone position, with
the head turned at one side

Cover the baby with dry clean cloth

properly-timed clamping and cutting of the cord

Properly timed cord clamping and cutting until the umbilical cord pulsation

every three preterm babies. It also prevents brain (intraventricular)
hemorrhage in one of two preterm babies.
Change the the 1st set of sterile gloves into a new one

Palpate umbilical cord for at least 1-3 minutes

Clamp cord when the umbilical pulsation stopped

Clamp the cord for at least 2 cm by a sterile plastic clamp

Clamp again for at least 5 cm away from the base. Milk the cord before we
clamp it.

Cut the cord slightly near at the sterile plastic clamp
