Paints & Coa ng Professionals are required to upgrade their competence in order to improve quality,
reduce cost and address environmental impact of paints and coa ng and as well as meet the challenges
of growing sector and global compe on.
A tremendous amount of financial loss is incurred every year as a result of premature failures of paints
and coa ngs. The cost to repair such failures far outweighs the ini al cost of pain ng. Coa ng failures can
occur for dozens of reasons, although they are typically a result of poor applica on, a defec ve coa ng, or
an inadequate specifica on. Most of the paint and coa ng-related failures can be a ributed to six
primary causes like; 1. Improper surface prepara on, 2. Improper coa ng selec on, 3. Improper
applica on, 4. Improper drying, curing and over coa ng mes, 5. Lack of protec on against water and
aqueous systems, 6. and Mechanical damage.
Beyond the quality of paints and coa ng applied, cost of paints and coa ng process in any manufacturing
industry accounts for significant cost of manufacturing. At the same me paints and coa ng waste and its
disposal, causes environmental damages.
A Paint and Coa ng Professional and Manager is expected to help his organisa on meet these challenges
of Quality, Cost, and Environment Impact by acquiring knowledge and applying it to achieve the desired
result.
Against this backdrop, in order to develop paints and coa ng professionals who can meet the growing
challenge of the sector, CII, jointly with the paints and coa ng experts is conduc ng an online training
course on paints and coa ng manager development. The CII Cer fica on Training Course; Paints &
Coa ng Manager Course to be organised on 26 – 27 - 28 – 29 – 30 May 2021, would address key
challenges pertaining to trouble shoo ng, improving quality and life of coa ngs, reducing cost of paints
and coa ng process and at the same me help professionals to mi gate environmental impact.
