World Bamboo Day
In order to raise awareness of the benefits of bamboo and to promote its use in everyday
products, people from around the world were celebrating World Bamboo Day on 18 th day of September
2018. Together with the Marcventures and Mining Cor[poration (MMDC), Schools from the Municipality
of Carrascal conducted a short program about the said celebration.
The program started with a prayer followed by the singing of nationalistic song, after that the
manager of the company Mrs. Nancy R. Valdoza gave a short message about the purpose of the
celebration. It was being followed by a short discussion about the purpose, importance, and uses of
bamboo to the life of the people. Contest on poster making and bamboo crafts were part of the
program were everyone were excited to attend. After enjoying the contests everyone were so excited to
know who won, Grade 11 rank 1st , Grade 9 rank 2nd , and Grade 8 rank 3 rd in bamboo craft while in
poster making Grade 7 rank 1st, Grade 9 rank 2 nd ,and Grade 12 rank 3rd.
The celebration was a huge success even though it was the first time of celebrating the bamboo
day. At the end, everyone specially the students learned a lot about bamboos and were challenged to
plant even just a single one.
Sugian clinch 1st in 100-meter Dash
After winning the 100-meter dash in the triangular against the other two schools from the
Municipality of Carrascal, Sugian onxce again prove her supremacy by clinching first in the 100-meter
dash during the Unit Meet, at Cantilan Pilot School Ground, September 6.
Before running to the track, Sugian gets through a hard training. Dashes, runs, and hurdles were
part of her daily routine. Even she was no time to attend the training it doesn’t matter for her as long as
she keeps on doing her best and do some exercises early in the morning. Jogging, stetching and eating
healthy foods was her investment that made her to clinch 1 st again on the sport she loved.
“Ya man gani ako makaiban pag practice sa Carrascal kay kalajo pero okay ra man sab kay mag-
jogging man ako kada buntag, oo paspas an ako mga kalaban pero ya man ako kahadlok, tagkusugan ko
pa pag-dyagan para makauna ako pag-abot sa finish line ugsa nakadaog ako”, the victor said with a
cheerful voice and a big smile.
Panikian Girls Volleyball Team bag the Victory
Panikian Girls Volleyball Team bag the victory after defeating their opponets from other schools
during the Triangular Meet, in Carrascal Elementary School on August 23-24, 2018.
Powerful sets was the breakfast on the very first set of the game. Every team was too
determined to grab the key to unlock the leading score and even the victory. Overwhelming defenses
and offenses were romp away. The flaming game was still continuing until the end of the first set where
Panikian Team won the leading score.
Second set starts with a bang! Unbreakable sets were released as well as the hot deffenses.
Every player played their role in their teams that made the second set more interesting. No one could
simply get some points because of the offenses and attacks, every player were tired already. Despite of
being tired everyone were still giving their full support and play in their team. In the end, teamwork and
strong determination made the Panikian Girls Volleyball Team bag the victory.
“Go Panikian!”, the victors said in such a loud voice.
Panikian wins Unit Meet Sepak Takraw via Teamwork
Despite the hindrances, Panikian National High School Team Takraw still managed to win the
Sepak Takraw sport, during the Triangular Meet at Carrascal Elementary School, August 23-24.
Players of both team started hitting their fancy kick early in the first set of the game for them to
make their own team to grab the leading score. Team Panikian’s opponent tried their best to shatter
their net defense but still it was a missed and made their team to take the lead in the first set.
Just like what happened in the first set, opponents were tying to defeat the Team Panikian in
the second set, giving them overhead smashes. Panikian countered their attacks by giving their
overwhelming kicks. Each eyes were focused on the ball and on the play and most especially to the
opponents weak spots. Teamwork is present in every single kick and must be on point on hitting the ball.
The game ended with the Panikian Team as the winner.
Smiles on the faces of the winning team proves that they enjoyed the game and it was a big
success.
