I. Objectives
A. General Objectives
At the end of 30 minutes’ discussion, 75% of the learners are expected to analyze
the intention of words or expression used in propaganda techniques.
B. Specific Objectives
B1. Identify the propaganda techniques used in a given text.
B2. Internalize importance of propaganda techniques in different advertisements.
B3. Apply your knowledge about the five propaganda techniques by creating your
own advertisement.

―When I hear the word Propaganda, it’s
all about lying, or at best, half-truth.‖

communication that aims to influence the attitude
of a community toward some cause or position by
presenting only one side of an argument and
usually repeated and dispersed over various media
to create the chosen result in audience attitudes.
Advertisers use propaganda to persuade people to
buy their products or services.‖

Propaganda Techniques

1. Bandwagon - is all about persuading the


target audience to take action.
2. Glittering Generalities - uses appealing
words and images to sell the product.
3. Transfer - is a technique to project
certain qualities (this can either be
positive or negative) of a person,
ideology, or object to other things and
people.
4. Testimonial - popular advertising
technique uses renowned, or celebrity
figures to endorse products and services.
5. Name Calling – or ―stereotyping‖ often
occurs in politics and wartime scenarios.
In advertising, it links a person or idea to
a negative symbol.

following the criteria below. Divide yourselves
into 2 groups. Each group will only have five
minutes to do the activity. Each group must
prepare ¼ sheet of paper to grade the other
group’s presentation.
