Question no 1: What is meant by simplicity and humility?
Simplicity and humility means being unceremonious, straight forward and having low view of

one’s importance. It means the lack of pride and state of being humble.
Question no 2: Describe in a few sentences, the life style of Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W)
in the light of the text that you have read?
The text shows that Muhammad (S.A.W) was very simple and humble in his life. He (S.A.W) ate
simple food and wore simple clothes.He never sought prominent or elevated place in gathering
Hazrat Ayesha said, “The mattress of the Rasool (S A W) on which he slept, was made of leather
stuffed with the fibre of date tree.
 Hazrat Muhammad (S A W) never made people feel small, unwanted or embarrassed.

 He (S A W) urged his followers to live decently and kindly.
 Hazrat Muhammad (S A W) would sit whenever (notes) there was a place available
and sought a prominent“or”elevated place (notes….).
 Hazrat Muhammad (S A W) never wore anything that could (notes….) distinguish him
from his companions (notes).
 He(S A W) would meet the affluent and the impoverished alike and never made
distinction on the basis of caste, creed and colour.
Question no 3: How can simplicity and humility do away with the culture of
extravagance and waste?
By adopting the qualities of simplicity and humility we can easily eradicate the culture of
extravagance. We can reduce our expenditures waste of money causes problems and difficulty
of simplicity does not suffer from mental unrest.
Question no 4: Read the last paragraph of the lesson, “Simplicity and humility of
Hazrat Muhammad(S A W) with comprehension and write down the main idea and
supporting details of the paragraph.
We can learn a lot from the faultless qualities of Prophet (S A W).

By adopting the simplicity, we can improve our life style and eradicate the socialevil
haughtiness. Simplicity and humility will not only give us happy life but will also correct our social
behavior.

sheet for her. Whenever she come to him.

Ans: Simplicity is a characteristic of greatness. It means doing what is necessary and
remaining balanced. Humility is the quality of being humble. Both these great virtues
mean straight forward and having low views of one’s importance.

Ans: The lifestyle of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was simple and humble. He always ate
simple food and wore simple clothes. He never searched for a prominent place in a
gathering. His mattress was made of leather stuff and leaves of the date tree.

waste?
Ans: By adopting the qualities of simplicity and humility, we can easily eradicate the
culture of extravagance and waste. We can also reduce our expenditure. These qualities
save a man from economic problems.

Ans: The main idea of the last paragraph is that we can learn a lot from the faultless
qualities of Muhammad’s (PBUH).By adopting the qualities of humbleness and simplicity.
we can improve our lives and can eradicate social evils like arrogance, pride, and
extravagance. Simplicity and humility will correct our social behaviour.
Q5: How did Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) treat his foster sister?
Ans: Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) treated his foster sister with great respect. Whenever
she came, he would stand up to receive her and would spread his sheet for her to sit.
