3. Removal Job Set−Up


A. Open the access doors that follow:

ACCESS DESIGNATION
311BB Aft equipment compartment door
311BZ APU enclosure door
B. Open, safety, and tag the circuit breaker that follows:

4. Removal Procedure
Refer to Figure 1.
A. Remove the oil filter as follows:
(1) Put the container below the oil filter.
(2) Remove the lockwire from the filter container (1). Remove
the filter container (1), the preformed packing (2), and the
filter element (3) from the lubrication module (4). Discard
the preformed packing (2).
(3) Remove the retaining ring (5), the pressure indicator (6),
and the preformed packing (7). Discard the preformed
packing (7).
B. Discard APU oil filter that was removed.
5. Installation Job Set−Up
A. Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as in
the removal task.
6. Installation Procedure
Refer to Figure 1.
CAUTION: THE MIXTURE OF DIFFERENT APPROVED BRANDS OF
TYPE 2 OILS OR TYPE 1 OILS WITH THE SAME OIL
CLASS IS APPROVED. HOWEVER, THE INTERMIXTURE
OF OIL TYPES OR OIL CLASSES MUST BE AVOIDED.
A. Install the oil filter as follows:

Discard of the APU Oil−Filter Element

AIRCRAFT EFFECTIVITY: Mechanic Inspector

(1) Install a new preformed packing (7) on the pressure


indicator (6).
(2) Install the pressure indicator (6) with the preformed
packing (7) in the container (1). Make sure that the red
button on the pressure indicator (6) is pushed in.
(3) Hold the pressure indicator (6) in the container (1) and
install the retaining ring (5).
(4) Install the filter element (3) in the container (1) and fill with
lubricating oil.
(5) Install a new preformed packing (2) on the container (1).
(6) Install the container (1) on the lubrication module (4).
Torque the container to 20 pound−inches (2.3 N·m)
maximum.
(7) Safety the container with lockwire.
7. Close Out
A. Do the servicing of the oil system (Ref. TASK
12−13−49−612−801).
B. Remove all tools, equipment, and unwanted materials from the
work area.
C. Remove the tag and close the circuit breaker that follows:

D. Do an oil leak check (Ref. TASK 49−30−00−790−801).


E. Close the access doors that follow:
