EVERY CHLD IS SPECIAL

(Film Analysis)

I salute my three fingers and a mocking jay whistle to the actor/director

Aamir Khan for having such great master piece. I also wanted to commend the
acting skills of the main character Darsheel Safary, who played the role as Ishan
on the movie, “Every Child is Special”. This Indian film is truly a heart touching
movie. Ishan, who suffered from dyslexia, received judgments from all the people
surround him. Even his teachers and parents misunderstood the capacity and
abilities of this child that sinks the child drown into isolation, fear and depression.

This movie illustrates the traditional education system not only in India but
also in our country before. They are dependent on the academes because they
believed that it is the essential in their community. The faculties are close-minded
on using the new conventional way of teaching the students. The bright side of
this movie is they are imposing discipline. Students must learn the subjects. They
should be neat and clean before attending the school. They give punishments to
those who will disobey the school policy. There’s also a consequence to those
who will not take the lessons seriously by kicking them out in the room. They are
also involving parents to be updated on the learning status of their children.
Though students will force to be a good model but let’s face it. Not everyone can
cope up with the same strategy in teaching. And that’s where the dilemma of the
child arises. Even how hard he tried to study, he got only frustrated to his self
because no one attempted to understand where he is coming from. And that
made me cry while watching. As a student, the feeling of being helpless and
drown into a deep hole without any hope of getting back to the surface is very
excruciating. Even you, yourself, think that you’re a futile and can’t do anything.
Not until his savior, Mr. Nikumbh, came into the picture. Everything was changed.
He used different technique to gauge the students in his lesson. He made his
class fun while learning. The boarding school learned to adapt the new style in a
teaching-learning process, and also, through this teacher, Ishan was given a
chance to dream again. He gave all his effort, dedication, became a motivator
and a father to mentor the hopeless child. As a result, the teacher’s effort
blooms. He contributed the best memory into someone’s life. He gave them a
lesson that every child is special and must learn despite diversities.

In our education system today, it’s good to hear that we are using the
philosophy that centered to the learners. Students have the freedom to explore,
exercise and showcase their talents or interests that helps them to become
globally competitive in a technological and democratic society.
