Sept Tenets
You can select a Sept tenant from Codex: T’au Empire,
or you can create your own using the Custom Sept
Tenant rules on page 3.

All Sept tenets from the codex function as described

in the codex, with the exception of the Sa’cea Sept,
which is amended as thus:

this tenet. In addition, in the Shooting phase you can
re-roll up to 5 of your warbands failed hit rolls..

Markerlights
For the purposes of HoR, do not use the rules for
Markerlights as outline in the Codex. Instead, refer to
the ‘Markerlights’ rule on the following page for how
to implement them in game-play.

Custom Sept Tenants
Instead of selecting a Sept Tenant from Codex: Tau Empire, you can create your own Sept and Sept tenant. The name
of your Sept can be one selected from the canon or it can be one of your own creation. The name of your selected
Sept will replace the <Sept> keyword.

To generate your own Sept Tenant select two of the traits below and apply it to your Warband.

Markerlights
If a model fires a Markerlight, it cannot fire any other weapons in that phase. When a model is hit by a Markerlight,
place a Markerlight counter next to it for the remainder of the phase.

The table below describes the benefits models with the T’au Empire keyword have when shooting at a model that
has Markerlight counters. All benefits are cumulative.

# of MLs Markerlight Benefits

• You can re-roll hit rolls of 1 for friendly units with the T’au Empire keyword against the marked
model.
• Friendly units with the T’au Empire keyword can ignore the marked model if targeting another
model behind it in the Shooting phase.

MODELING TIPS
• Kroot Hunter (32 mm): This unit is modeled off of the Dahyak Grekh character from Blackstone Fortress, but
can proxied by any Kroot model with some special bits and do-dads to set it apart (extra feathers, poncho,
ect).

• Sniper Drones: If you’re feeling on the cheap just glue a spare Pulse rifle and some spare Phobos fins onto a
gun drone for a convincing Sniper Drone

• Cadre Fireblade: There are many ways you can build one using the Fire Warrior kit, but if you want it to
stand out from a regular Shas’ui consider putting all the extra aesthetic bits on it that you’d typically see on a
leader; bonding blade in one of his hands, cape, helmet less head, distinct rank markings, putting him on an
elevated base, ect.

• DX4 Technical Drone: Take a Gun Drone, glue a spare Crisis suit head and a shield generator to its underside
and you’ll essentially have a technical drone. But really, no body really knows what one looks like so you
could get away with gluing any assortment of bobs and bits and get a convincing look. Another idea is re-
apropriating those Homing Beacons from the Stealth Suits.

• MV8 Missile Drone: This is probably a no brainer, but perhaps easy to overlook. Glue one of your spare Crisis
suit missile pod to a gun drone, and bada-bing.
