Student Strength, Preferences, Interests

According to the classroom teacher, he works hard and fast. He has difficulty
communicating and if he fails to communicate he will communicate using his hands
and sometimes will be unresponsive and will just keep quiet.

According to his O.T. He will be cooperative if given reinforcement such as free play
time after therapy sessions.

According to his mother also reported that his child has difficulty communicating his
needs and sometimes would not speak if he does not know how to communicate his
needs and would result in finger and pen pointing. The mother reported that KM has
his “own make up language”, He would distort words that would end up as
unintelligible utterances.

Present Levels of Educational Performance Summary


Developmental Profile 3 was given to KM, a standardized instrument to evaluate his
communication skills. The following results are compiled
 KM is noted to have difficulties in expressive communications
 He distorts words that makes it difficult to understand him.
 KM is average in range in his ability to tell which words/pictures are related
when provided with 3-4 pictures or words. He works well with pictures and
visual presentations.
 KM is low for sentence assembly.
 KM is below average in following directions. He showed difficulty following
sequencing signals (after, first, second) in commands.

CONSIDERATION OF SPECIAL FACTORS

The child is not blind or visually impaired
The child is not deaf or hard of hearing
