1.What is/are the problem about?

The problem was all about the Arthur T. which is the recent CEO

of the company. He was suspended of his position because of the

stakeholders decisions. Arhur T. were not reliable enough of taking

responsible of the

Company and don’t deserve his position. Many employees was not paid

for their work for six weeks because of the said issue which cause
struggling of the company and loses their job .They started a protest to

give back the position to Arthur T. which they had their CEO for years

and support to be reinstated by his family.

2.What is/are the objective(s) of the case study?

To demonstrate the business, operations, and employee relations

strategies and practices that support “high road” businesses; what made

the collective action by Market Basket employees successful; why this

dispute garnered such broad public support and what this implies for what

Americans are looking for in business organizations today and

shareholder conflicts in a family business.

3.What are the courses of actions taken?

The actions taken were the Employees and Managers that is lose

their unite to fight for their rights and to support Athur T. to be reinstated

and giving back his authority. July 16, 2014 employees at company

headquarters demanded in writing that Arthur T. be reinstated and


requested a response by 4:30pm the next day. Rejecting the response

given the next day by the board that it would take up their demand the

following

Monday, the employees planned a walkout and rally for the following
day.

By convincing the Company Stakeholders ,On August 27, the

Market Basket board of directors and shareholders reached an agreement

for Arthur T. and his family to purchase 50.5% of the company for $1.6

billion from Arthur S.'s side of the family. As part of the agreement,

Arthur T. was reinstated with his management team to run the company

with full operational authority during the transition period, and the two

CEOs would stay on in a monitoring capacity and report to the board

during this time.

4.What is your conclusion?

In taking a big role of the company you shall be responsible at all

times and taking such big risks may cause bankrupt of company. The

company “Market Basket” help me realize doing big business is crucial.


When you decide think twice before anyone nor something may affects

the company.

As of now many companies did experience like this problem but

they never gave up until they don’t succeed their goals. Businesses

operation is harder to work at if you are not fully prepared for that comes

next like you are doing things competitively.

5.What is your recommendation?

I recommend that operating business is you have to persistent ,

patience and responsible to all things that you have been doing. Taking

more opportunities to make big economical profits. Be diverse and accept

the every changes of generation to cope up and do your best at its finest.
