Questions and Answers

Direction: Kindly answer the following questions.

1. Search some current business periodicals (e.g., Fortune, Fast

Company, Business Week) for articles dealing with workforce-

management issues. Explain how they relate to the material in this

chapter. Are any new approaches or practices emerging?

In the findings of my research the articles dealing with workforce

management issues were related to to the material in this chapter. It has

same obligation and role around the company. Many challenges or

issues how they work up things and essentially it gives substantial

information to narrate the work force empowerment. As it perceives

what the gist on of the said management issues.

Dealing with low work performance has always been a major

source of organizations and managers problems. This problem is

usually caused by lack of proper staff selection staff qualified to do the

work.Due inefficiency, the managers end up getting unexpected

results.Secondly, the managers get the problem when demonstrating the

expectation to those staff employees.

Also, most organizations want their employee and their partners

to cooperate each other. When one employee comes to the manager

with a complaint about his or colleague, it puts the manager in a very

difficult situation. Another type of conflict that makes managers and

organization finds it hard to manage work is the peer conflict.Peer

conflict involves confrontational arguments. Many managers are not

tolerated and may not accept the argument by the employee. When an

organization has such confrontation the amount of work will not

correspond to the expectation.

This issues are globally present, it may not be tackled but most

organizations had this sitatuation.Through constant researching some

knowledge we know we do better as a manager and employees in terms

of working and making a top organizations.

2. Research the impacts of the Internet on workforce management

practices in an actual firm. One possible approach might be to visit the

websites of several firms, examine practices that may be described, and

compare and contrast your findings.

As you can see,the internet has the power to transform the

workplace and this gives the executives and other business leaders

plenty of reasons to adapt more digital solutions in thier

business. However, it’s also clear that most companies are

behind, meaning that many of you may have not yet fully experienced

the way the internet has changed the workplace, but its coming.

The internet has created a whole new workplace that exists

entirely in the digital realm. Thanks to the internet, it’s possible to run a

large scale retail operation without having to rent out a single squre foot

of office or warehouse space. It’s also possible to get thousands of

people to flock to your website just because an Instagram celebrity

posted a photo about you and told their followers to check you out. It’s

also possible to automate almost everything and just sit back and watch

things run.
On of the most obvious ways the internet has changed the

workplace is that it has gotten rid of the need to even have a

workplace. It’s easier now than ever for employees to work from home

and this seems to be something they want.Employers are responding be

making work from home arrangements easier and more available. Also

considered our time management. For most of people, working full time

has nearly always meant 40 hours per week. Typically, these 40 hours

are worked from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5 pm. In recent years,

employers have become more flexible when it comes to the

hours, especially in cities where traffic is bad, but normal office hours

have stayed basically the same for most of the last half century. The

internet completely changed this .Now the people can work when and

where they want , the fixed, 40 hour working per week is really no

longer needed. Instead, people are free to choose the hours they want to

work based on what makes the most sense for them.

The internet has also changed how we communicate with one

another. Since email and other messages can be sent and received all

through the night, it has made easier for us to be always on.This is

useful when we’re needed to a solve a problem, but it can be a big

challenge when you’re trying to create boundaries and set aside time in

your schedule foe activities not related to work.

These ways the internet has changed the workplace represent just

the tip ot the iceberg when it comes to the way the internet has

impacted how we do business. But as you can see, these changes had a

profound impact how we do our jobs, and they remind us of how much

more will be changed as the world advances even more. And as we

move forward and further embrace the pwoer of internet , we will have

tp keep an eye on additional changes to the way we do things so we can

take full advantage of everything the internet has to offer.

3. Review the most recent list of Fortune’s “100 best Companies to

Work for” and summarize the best practices of these companies,

classifying them into themes such as Engagement, Work Environment,

Training, and so on.

At present, placement agencies play a critical role in assisting those

seeking for employment opportunities either for the first time or for those

who want to advance their career. The Fortune 100 Best Companies to
Work For list came out at the beginning of the year. It is important for our

placement firm to establish a good working relationship with these

companies so that we can succeed in business. Most of these companies

have announced several positions that need to be filled in the near future.

These companies are particularly good places where the graduates from

Saint Leo University can seek for employment opportunities.

More so, our employment agency can greatly benefit if it can

establish an exclusive relationship with some of them, such as SAS,

Edward Jones, and Google. This is because these companies have

maintained an organizational culture that ensures that the employees are

satisfied at their place of work. In these companies, employees are treated

with all the respect they deserve without humiliating them unnecessarily.

Currently, employment agencies play a crucial role in assisting

those seeking for employment opportunities for the first time or those

who want to advance their career. Employment or placement agencies are

corporations that find jobs for individuals or individuals for jobs by

providing an orientation of finding the jobs and creating a pool of

screened candidates.
They achieve this through constant advertising and referrals from

satisfied candidates and potential employers. In most cases, the person

looking for employment pays the placement fees.

However, in other instances, the employer caters for the expenses

based on the acceptance of the job seeker. The employment agencies

serve various clients, ranging from first-time job seekers to those in the

executive level. Generally, the agencies would screen out for the best

candidates to fill the vacant positions, whereas the employer makes the

final decision on which candidates to recruit.

The FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For List came out

this year in mid-January. It is interesting that most of these companies

have numerous job openings and are looking forward to hire more

employees soon. Nearly all firms strive to be named in the FORTUNE

100 Best Companies to Work For list.

This is because when they have job openings, they receive twice as

many applications as firms that are not found on the list. In addition, they

enjoy remarkable employee turnover levels which are less than half those

of their main competitors in the market. In short, satisfied employees fuel

corporate profits as individuals love to work in places where they are

treated well.
Establishing a working relationship with the companies on the

Fortune 100-Best list is important for enabling an employment agency to

achieve its objectives. This is because it will make it easier for the agency

to connect a job seeker with his or her prospective employer.

A working relationship with the companies would ensure that team

spirit is upheld as all the parties would strive to work as a composite

whole in meeting the requirements of one another. Ultimately, they would

share knowledge concerning the best-qualified candidates to consider for

positions, grow together, and co-operate with one another, thereby

benefitting each other in the long run.

Currently, finding trustworthy employees is not easy, but the

process can be made less taxing by seeking the assistance of a reputable

employment agency. Employers have recognized the crucial

responsibility that placement firms play in offering them with competent

and highly trained workers. This crucial role can only be achieved when

there is a good working relationship between the employers and the

recruitment firms.

In addition, they provide increased exposure to job seekers since in

most cases prospective employers are more impressed when recruiters

introduce the candidates to them. Placement firms also play the crucial
role of helping the new and inexperienced candidate negotiate a very

reasonable and appropriate salary from the prospective employer whom

they have developed a good working relationship with.

The global business magazine, Fortune, picks the one hundred best

companies, which are at least seven years old and have over one thousand

U.S. employees, after going through a rigorous process.

The magazine collaborates with the Great Place to Work Institute

to undertake the task of surveying employees in over three hundred

companies on a yearly basis. Random samples of workers from every

company are asked to take the survey, which asks questions appertaining

to their attitudes about their management trustworthiness, job satisfaction,

and comradeship at the place of work.

The results of the survey form sixty-six percent of the score of the

participating company. The rest of the company’s rating is derived from

its responses to the Great Place to Work Institute’s Culture Audit. This

audit has detailed questions intended to evaluate the pay and benefit

programs offered by the company. In addition, it also has a series of

open-ended questions pertaining to recruitment, communication, and

diversity within the environment of the company.

The company was recognized because of its excellent employee

benefits, such as high quality childcare facilitates and adequate coverage

for sick employees, work-life balance, flexibility, and support to its

employees. The company has appeared in the list thirteen times, seven

times in top ten and five times in top five.

In conclusion, it is apparent that establishing a working

relationship with all the companies in the Fortune 100-Best companies is

integral for the success of our employment agency. A good working

relationship would make it easier for a job seeker to connect with his or

her potential employer and the employer would be hooked up to the best

applicants to fill the open positions.
