Competitions Detail

1. Quiz
Description

The objective of quiz competition is to encourage students to look beyond


their textual knowledge and establish a relationship between theory and
application of the learnt concepts. It helps one in expanding their
knowledge in general/ specific areas of study.

Topic for the Competition

General Knowledge, Science & Technology, COVID-19, Ecology and


Environment, etc.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students from Classes 6 to 12 studying in any


school in India. Home schooled and special/ alternate school students are
also eligible to participate

Important Dates

Date of the Competition: 30th June to 12th July, 2021 (Upto 11:59PM)

Last Date for Registration: 12th July, 2021 (Upto 10:59PM)


Rules

 The participant should be registered at least 01 Hour before the


competition i.e. 12th July, 2021, 10:59pm
 The quiz competition will conducted for three levels i.e. (i) Classes 6 - 8,
(ii) Classes 9 - 10, and (iii) Classes 11 - 12
 Only single entry is allowed
 The competition will be conducted using P N Panicker National Reading
Mission mobile app
 There will be 50 questions from General Knowledge, Science &
Technology, COVID - 19, Ecology and Environment, etc.,
 The quiz competition duration is 30 minutes
 Each correct answer will be awarded two (2) marks and there is one (1)
negative mark for each wrong answer
 Judge’s decision will be final

2. Open Art
Description

The objective of open art competition is to engage children in a creative


exercise to express themselves, stimulate their creativity and innovative
ideas through art.
Topic for the Competition

Topic 1: Education for All

Topic 2: Forest and People

Topic 3: My Own Art

Eligibility

This competition is open to all students from Classes 1 to 12 studying in


any school in India. Home schooled and special/ alternate school students
are also eligible to participate

Important Dates

Date of the Competition: 23rd June to 07th July, 2021 (Upto 11:59PM)

Last Date for Registration: 07th July, 2021 (Upto 10:59PM)

Rules

 The participant should be registered at least 01 Hours before the


competition i.e. 07th July, 2021 (10:59PM)
 The open art competition will conducted for four levels i.e. (i) Classes 1 -
5; (ii) Classes 6 - 8, (iii) Classes 9 - 10, and (iv) Classes 11 - 12
 The participant can choose one of the topics mentioned above and make
their Art
 The art can be a sketch, drawing or a painting using any tools such as
pencil, crayon, water colour, oil paint, computer drawing, etc.
 Photographs, wires, and other 3D objects are not acceptable
 The work of art should be original and it must be created by the participant
himself or herself
 The art should not include words, national flags or slogans
 The art should not infringe or violate other’s rights, trademarks,
intellectual property rights and copyrights
 The art should be appropriate at school student levels. They should not
violate any rules of India and should not be indecent, offensive, hateful,
defamatory and unsuitable for public display and publication
 Clear image showing the entire art should be uploaded in the P N Panicker
National Reading Mission mobile app using the Username and Password
provided at the time of registration
 Judge’s decision will be final

3. Essay Writing
Description

The objective of essay writing competition is to give students the


opportunity demonstrate their reading, thinking and writing skills in a well
connected and compact manner.
Topic for the Competition

Topic 1: My favourite leader

Topic 2: The book(s) I love to read

Topic 3: Usage of electronic devices for learning

Eligibility

This competition is open to all students from Classes 6 to 12 studying in


any school in India. Home schooled and special/ alternate school students
are also eligible to participate.

Date of the Competition: 23rd June to 07th July, 2021 (Upto 11:59PM)

Last Date for Registration: 07th July, 2021 (Upto 10:59PM)

Rules

 The participant should be registered at least 01 Hour before the


competition i.e. 07th July, 2021 (Upto 10:59PM)
 The essay writing competition will be conducted for three levels i.e. (i)
Classes 6 - 8, (ii) Classes 9 - 10, and (iii) Classes 11 - 12
 Three topics for the competition are mentioned above and you can choose
one of the topics and write your essay
 Only original essays will be considered for the competition. Previously
published essays are therefore excluded. Any form of plagiarism will
result in disqualification of the essay
 The participants can submit their essay in the P N Panicker National
Reading Mission app by scanning and uploading the essay written on an
A4 size paper
 The entries will be evaluated based on the structure, facts & insights,
creativity, and language.
 Usage and citation of resources from the National Digital Library of India
are encouraged
 Judges' decision will be final.
