PERSONALITY TRAITS- is an enduring personal characteristics that undelies a persons reactions to a


variety of situations.

 Traits- Consistency over time, individual differences, stabilitty accross situations.

Different personal background.

 Different philosophical orientations
 Unique ways of looking at the world
 Data chosen to observe is different.

Dimensions for a concept of humanity

 Determinism vs. Free choice- do we conciously direct our own actions, or they are govern by
other forces?
-Some behavior are determined by past events and some can be
spontaneous and under our control.
 Pessimism vs optimism- are we basically good or evil?
- Some viewed human personality good and hopeful, depicting as us
humanitarian, altruistic, socially concious. Other theorist find few
these qualities in human beings, either collectivelly or individuality
