Background and
Rationale of the Study In early January 2020, a new strain of coronavirus (SARS‐CoV‐2)
producing a respiratory disease (COVID‐19) began spreading across
the globe. “The World Health Organization declared a global health
emergency and on 11th March a pandemic was confirmed.
However, According to KPMG in Bahrain (2020) The COVID-19
pandemic is having an extra ordinary impact on business in Bahrain
and worldwide. Businesses, employees and customers are affected.
Economic are affected especially in the labor market. Financial
planning, risk scenarios, contingency planning, workforce planning,
tax, supply chain. “At a time of crisis, it is important that we share our
insights and experience as much as possible, helping each other to
contain and mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on organizations and the
broader economy. “
Statement of the Problem The corona virus pandemic that began in 2019 was triggered by acute
respiratory syndrome. “On 21 February 2020, the virus was verified to
have entered Bahrain. As of 17 September, a total of 62,484 confirmed
cases have been reported. (Wikipedia)”. “According to Bahrain Tax
(May2020), the Bahraini government established a National Task Force
for Combating the Corona Virus via Ministries and National Authorities
to develop and implement strategies to contain the spread of pandemic

The aim of this research is to conduct a real-time evaluation of the
COVID 19 pandemic's effect and possibilities on the hotel and tourist
industries.
This research will specifically attempt to address the following
questions:

1. How do respondents see the effect and possibilities of the


COVID 19 pandemic on the hotel and tourist industries, as well
as cost-cutting, organization, virtualization, integration, and
domestication?

2. How successful are the COVID 19 pandemic's effects and


possibilities in the hotel and tourist industries in terms of cost-
cutting, orderliness, virtualization, integration, and
domestication?

3. Is there a substantial connection between the perception of the


COVID 19 epidemic and its degree of efficacy in the hotel and
tourist industries?

Hypothesis of the Study


1. 1. Is there no correlation between perceptions of the COVID 19
pandemic's efficacy and cost-cutting, orderliness, virtualization,
integration, and domestication in the hospitality and tourist
industries?

Objectives of the Study

The particular issues under investigation need the use of solid


statistical evidence to demonstrate the effect and possibilities for the
hospitality and tourist industries in the Covid 19 era. As a result, the
following goals should be met:

1. To organize the hotel industry's challenges and possibilities in the


event of a covid 19 epidemic.
2. To analyze current developments in the hotel industry's strategic
repositioning and to investigate the difficulties posed by the covid 19
epidemic.
3. To devise new strategies and tactics for surviving the impending
financial meltdown in the hotel sector.
4. To determine the effect of COVID-19 on employee performance
while working from home.
Expected outputs The findings of this study will add to the success elements for channel
and customer service enhancements, as well as a successful
diversified strategy in the business, hotel, and tourist industries. And to
provide a better understanding and analysis of the effect of COVID -19
on the workplace during this time of difficulty, as well as to quantify all
organizational functions necessary to overcome the current COVID -19

D. Research Methodology This research used a qualitative approach. The data collecting method
is via online surveys and questionnaires, as well as performing in-
person interviews. The purpose of regression analysis is to ascertain
whether independent variables are linked to the dependent variables
and to investigate the nature of the connections. Other data is based on
the present state and situation and was gathered from different
research papers, journals, and publications from the years 2020-2021
in accordance with the study's requirements.
