    Dear Sir/Madam,

    As a finance enthusiast and a curious reader, I first read about Optiver from the blog
    Amsterdamtrader, and was instantly captivated by the innovative nature and vision it shares.
    Therefore, one can only imagine how excited I was to submit my application for the opportunity of
    the Trader Assistant (Academic part time job) position. I believe I will be a great fit within your
    organization considering my academic training, international background, and can-do attitude.

    Currently, I am a fourth-year finance student at Avans University of Applied Science. This program
    allows me to develop strong analytical skills through different trainings such as financial
    mathematics and economics class. Specifically, I have completed research on BP and Shell PLC's
    financial forecast and diagnose their business standing by applying investment analysis.
    Furthermore, my past work experience at Kuehne+Nagel not only prepared me to excel in Microsoft
    Excel, but also sharpen my attention to details in real life by managing the creditors' report.

    My upbringing was fortunately across countries and has taught me to think with an open mind and
    work with people from different cultures and values. Furthermore, having served in the Taiwanese
    military trained me to embrace challenges and work hard. Optiver is the perfect place for me
    because I am the living proof of commitment, determination and motivation.

    As evidence of this, I would like to provide an example of my hard work ethic. During my study
    period in China, I discovered the opportunity to help schools in rural areas to improve children’s
    learning environment through research. I took initiative as the chair in building this passionate
    project and grew this into a team of 200 people with different nationalities. We ran multiple
    fundraisers and tackled unforeseen issues along the way. With the money raised, I managed and
    allocated the expenses to expand the scope of the project to Xian, China, where we helped build
    three fully functional libraries for the schools there.

    I am confident that I can become an asset to Optiver as a team player who is committed to taking
    on new challenges and thriving in a fast-paced environment. I firmly believe in what Optiver does
    and will take great honor in being a part of it. Hence, I kindly ask you for a chance to believe in me,
    too.
