he struck the King hard with his sword, but as he did so, he fell over the doctor's body. It was easy for

The plans ‫ا‬
Rassendyll
1 - Attending the coronation : ‫ ا‬ ‫ر‬
To attend the coronation of King Rudolf the Fifth and he told his family He was going to the Alps
to write a book about social problems in the country.
2-Gainnig popularity:  ‫ب‬‫ا‬

5
- His plan was to make himself as popular as he could, and say nothing bad about Michael to stop
the poorer people of Strelsau from thinking badly about him. Then, if there were a fight, perhaps
people would not want to follow Michael.
- He decided to visit the poor part again.
-He hoped to have the support of the Princess.
3-Rescuing the king :‫ذ ا‬‫ام‬
- Sapt would take some men to the front door of the mansion. When Johann opened the door, they
would quickly enter and tie up the servants if they did not want to help the King. At the same time
Madame de Mauban would cry out for help from her room. The Duke would come to see what was
happening, and they could kill him. Then there would only be two men left guarding the King, so they
would need to move quickly before they hurt the King.
********************************************
Sapt
1-The Coronation
- He planned to replace the poisoned king with Rassendyll to prevent Duke Michael from taking the
crown.
2-After kidnapping the king
- He planned to make Michael worried more by asking Rassendyll to complete the game and return
to Strelsau
2- Rudolf Rassendyll's life was in danger, so Sapt ordered six men to follow him
Wherever he went.
****************************
Duke Michael
1- planned to poison the king to take the throne
2- planned to kill Rudolf Rassendyl at the summer house and take his body into the old town. The
body would be found and Michael would arrest Colonel Sapt and Captain Fritz for murdering Rudolf
Rassendyl. Then a messenger would be sent to Zenda and the real King would be murdered too
3- If the castle was attacked, Detchard would kill the King. Then the body would be put down the
pipe After that, Detchard would escape through the pipe and swim across the moat.
4- If the castle was attacked by a large group of soldiers, they would do the same thing, but one of
the Six Men would take the King's place. Michael would say that he was only keeping one of the Six
Men as prisoner because he had been rude to Antoinette.
*********************************
Rupert
1-Rupert told Rassendyll to attack the castle bravely but Sapt, Fritz, Michael and the King had
to die. In this case, Rassendyll would stay King and Rupert would have a reward
2-to punish Antoinette for sending secret letters to Rassendyll.
******************************
Differences ‫ت‬‫ا‬
1- Robert and Rudolf Rassendyll
 Rudolf is different because he does not take his duties to society seriously and he doesn’t work. He
also had red hair.
2 -Rudolf Rassendyll (the pretend king ) and Rudolf Elphberg (the real

thinner. There was a centimetre or two difference in height

3 – Rudolf Elphberg and Mtuke Michael:
- the king is almost a stranger. He's been abroad for most of his life and not many people even
know what he looks like.

6
Ruritanian people know him well.
- His mother wasn't royal so he must marry Flavia to be a king.
- He prepares everything for the coronation.
4 – The old town and the modem town :
In the old town.
-Thousands of poor people were crowded into tiny houses and narrow streets which were old and
hot in the summer, freezing cold in the winter.
- These people did not want things to stay the same. So, they did not like the King and supported
Duke Michael, who told them he wanted things to be different and gave them hope for a better
future.
In the modern town.
- There were wide, modem streets where the rich people lived in big houses. These were the
people who had always lived well under the King's father, and who would support the new King
because they knew that nothing would change.
*******************************************
Similarities ‫ت‬‫ا‬
1 - Rassendyll has the same red hair and straight noses as the Elphbergs.
2 - Rudolf Rassendyll and Rudolf Elphberg were like identical twins. Both like easy
life.
3 -Rudolf Elphberg and Duke Michael want the same thing which was the crown.

159- “We’ll go back to Strelsau. The King will be back in the capital again tomorrow!”
160- “Michael must have known all day.”
161- “I wish I knew. It’s a real puzzle.”
162- “You must leave the country as soon as you can.”
163- “Here, put on this big coat and hat. Now are you ready to go?”
Sapt
164- “You will tell everyone that the king’s gone to bed and that he’s not to be woken by anybody
until nine o’clock tomorrow morning.” (to Fritz)
165- “Michael may try to visit, but you mustn’t let him in.” (to Fritz)
166- “Here’s a form from the King himself. You can show it to your father when he returns.”
(to the girl at the city gate)
167- “Your father should have stayed here.” (to the gatekeeper’s girl)
Fritz to Rassendyll
168- “That was a day to remember!” “I think I’d like to be king for a day.”
169- “But Rassendyll, you mustn’t try too hard. I’m not sure it was a good idea to ride alone
through the old town.”
170- “Duke Michael won’t like it if you become too popular with his people, you know.”
The Princess to Rassendyll
171- “Perhaps you already have. I heard that you rode through the old town alone,” “That
surprised me. The people there must really have appreciated what you did.”
172- “Do you know Rudolf, you look different today?”
“If all’s well, why go there? And if all isn’t well, I fear there’ll be a trap.”

22
174- “I think we should go to the castle where we can learn the truth.”
175- But he told me not to open the gate for anyone.” (The gatekeeper’s girl to Sapt)
176- “Why not the hunting lodges?” (Michael to Max)
177- “When’s the wedding?” (One of the poor people to King’ Rassendyll)
178- “I’m surprised that he’s on his own, but he’s taller than I thought.”
(One of the poor people to another)

Chapter 4
Sapt to Rassendyll
179- “Yes, but they can’t say anything,” “They cannot say. This isn’t the real King because we’ve
kidnapped him and killed his servant.” Will they say that?”
180- “If the real King’s already dead, then you shall stay King? But I think the King’s still alive,
and I don’t think they’ll do anything to him if you’re in the capital. They’d known that you would
stay King if they killed him!”
181- “Good man!” “I’ll go and get the horses.”
182- “Very well.” “As a soldier, I’ve had a lot of fights like this. I’ll show you what to do.”
183- “Good!” “That will give Michael something to worry about.”
184- “Freyler’s a good servant, but sometimes it’s best not to trust even the best of men.”
185- “Even Fritz thinks you’re the real King!” “I think we can do this.”
186- “Quick! Go into the bedroom, take your hat and boots off and climb into bed. Cover yourself
up so people think you’re a sleep.”
187- “I wish they were.” “Because then there’d only be four and not six of them.”
188- “Of course it’s a risk, but we must have a King in Strelsau.”
189- “We’ve got them! They can’t say anything without showing their guilt.”
190- “Well done! That was very brave. Do you think they saw who you were?”
191- “Listen, if you’re a man, you can save the King. Go back and pretend to be him.”
192- “Let’s go to Strelsau. We’ll be caught if we stay here.”
193- “They’ll do whatever Michael asks them to do.”
Rassendyll to Sapt
194- “But the Duke knows where the real King is, and all his men know!”
195- “Sapt, surely someone in Strelsau will realise I’m not the real King,” “The Princess has
already said she thinks the King’s changed. She’ll certainly realise.”
196- “What if the King’s already dead?”
197- We should make sure that some of those evil men join Josef.”
198- “You’re mad! The plan’s too dangerous.”
199- “If people find out who I am. I’ll fight with the Duke.”
200- “Yes, one of the men said. It’s the king before I pushed him off his horse.”
“My King, you’re safe! I’m so pleased.”
202- “Oh! Rassendyll?” “But what’s happened to your hand? Are you hurt?”
203- “What is it? Where’s the real King?”
204- “Unfortunately I fear you’ll soon be meeting them.”
205- “They’re six special soldiers who Michael keeps in his house at all times. They’re completely
loyal to him. Three are from Ruritania; one is Belgian, one French, and one’s from your country.”
206- “So no one can do anything! It’s a stalemate!”
207- “Rest? No! We mustn’t waste any time! Shouldn’t we plan how to attack Michael?”
Rassendyll to Fritz
208- “And we cannot accuse him in public without admitting that I’m not the real King.”
209- “Excuse me, but who are the Six Men?”
210- “Would they try to kill me?”
211- “We don’t think so. But Duke Michael’s holding him prisoner.”
Rassendyll to Sapt and Fritz
212- “So they were not the men we saw at the hunting lodge?”
Sapt to Fritz
213- “Be quiet, Fritz!” “Don’t speak so loudly! People will hear us.”
214- “Let’s take things slowly.”
215- “We aren’t going to do anything dangerous.”

23
216- “He won’t,” “If he kills the King, he knows that Rassendyll will stay as King instead . And he
cannot accuse Rassendyll of anything because then people will know that he’s kidnapped the King.”
217- “Only half? Then that means the other half are guarding the King.”
218- “Without a doubt. Which three are here in Strelsau, Fritz?”
219- “It’s nothing serious. What’s more important is what we have to tell you.”
Fritz to Sapt
220- “Tell me, is the King dead?”
221- “Yes. You’re right,” said Fritz. “So that means the King must be alive.”
222- “If the king were dead, all the six men would be here with the Duke.”
Rassendyll to the Princess
223- “You need not call me ‘sir.’ I told her, “For after all, we are still cousins.”
224- “My brother’s back in the city. I hear. He went away for a while, didn’t he?”
225- “I’d like him to be near me because he’s my half-brother. We’re family” “We need to help
and support each other. Unfortunately, I’ve heard he can’t stay in Strelsau for very long.”
226- “But of course he can come in.”
227- “Not from this,” “but if I gave him the chance to bite again it would be diff erent.”
“Send her my thanks and tell her that I’ve never better in my life.”
229- “That’s good. The nearer he is to me, the better.”
The Princess to Rassendyll
230- “Do you want him to be near you so that you know what he’s doing?”
231- “It’s him” “It’s the Duke of Strelsau! He’s coming here now.”
232- “You do know that Michael will be very angry. Is that a good idea?”
233- “Is there any danger from the bite?”
234- “Did you kill the animal?”
235- "How funny you are? You know that no one can enter without your permission.”
236- “You have completely changed since you became King, sir.”
237- “You haven’t asked him to come in. He’s been waiting outside the room for a long time.”
238- “I’m proud to do so, Rudolf, but I think your face has changed.”
Rassendyll to Michael
239- “Yes, am animal bit me,” “It’ll be fine.”
240- “He’ll be knocked on the head.”
241- “I was never very good at remembering all the rules.”
242- “I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you were waiting, otherwise I’d have asked you in sooner.”
Michael to Rassendyll
243- “You’ve hurt your hand.”
244- “But he might bite again.”
245- “Three of my friends would very much like to meet you. Sir. They’re waiting outside.”
246- “These gentlemen are the most loyal and honest of the king’s servants, and are my great
friends.”
Sapt of Freyler
247- “Yes, Freyler, all is well.”
248- “Now remember, say nothing about this. All young men like to ride their horses now and
then, so why not the King?”
249- “The King’s had a good long sleep.” (Sapt to the Princess’s servant)

Chapter (5)
Sapt to Rassendyll
250- “From the writing, I think it’s from a woman. I also have some important news.”
251- “We asked where the rest of the six men were, and found out that they are all there at the
castle.”
“Almost certainly. The three men are always at the castle, and people say the drawbridge is
nearly always kept up. That is not normal. No one goes to the building without the permission of
Rupert or Michael.
253- “De Gautet, Bersonion and Detchard are in Strelsau, and any one of them could catch you
easily,” “So, what’s that letter?”
254- “Yes, and Michael can also write a very good letter.”

24
255- “I’ve heard that she came to Ruritania with her servants as a guest of Michael,” “People say
she had a great argument with Michael. And now she’s staying somewhere in Strelsau.”
256- “Some interesting things have been happening this morning.”
257- “The police report says that the Duke of Strelsau left the capital by the road to Zenda. An
hour later, he was followed by De Gautet, Bersonin and Detchard, who had a bandage around his
arm.”
258- “Finally, listen to this: the people of the capital are not happy that the King has yet to marry
the Princess. Some people say that if they do not marry soon, it would be better if the
Princess
married the Duke of Strelsau. However, the King is having a ball tonight for the Princess.”
259- “Listen,” “You must ask the Princess to marry you tonight.”
260- We can’t wait any longer,” “We must go to Zenda and rescue the King.”
261- “Perhaps she would be useful if she had information about Michael. However, I believe that
Michael wrote that letter.”
262- “We now know that the King’s at the Castle of Zenda.”
263- “It would be very useful for Michael if you disappeared. And if you disappear, the game’s
over.”
264- “I don’t believe this woman and you’re mad to go!”
265- “I’ll wait for you here, outside the gate. Good luck.”
266- “You’ll probably stay there forever if you do.”
267- “Because I’ve ordered them to follow you.”
268- “I apologize, but there’s some who wants to see you, sir.”
Rassendyll to Sapt
269- “If not today, then soon. I most go there.”
270- “Tell me, Sapt, why is it that wherever I go in the capital, I’m followed by six people?”
271- “I don’t need such help, I can look after myself.”
272- “ So she could be useful to us.”
273- “So do I, but I’m not certain.” “I’ll go to the house tonight.”
274- “You can come too, but you must wait outside the gate when I go in alone.”
275- “Either I go to the house, or I go back to England. We don’t have much time.”
276- “Every day we leave the King imprisoned there’s more danger. We must move quickly.”
277- “Sapt! It’s me, let’s go.”
278- “Do you realise, that everyone really thinks I’m the King, even the Princess? I could even
arrange for the Duke and the real King to be killed.”
279- “Do you think the King’s definitely there?”
280- “ I believe this woman, and I will go.”
281- “I have a fine story to tell you about a table!”
282- “I can’t do that. It wouldn’t be fair to the Princess.”
“It isn’t fair for the people of Ruritania and it isn’t fair for the Princess, either.”
Antoinette to Rassendyll
284- “We have little time,” “Listen! I know who you are and I know you’re not the King. You’re
Mr. Rassendyll.”
285- “I wrote that letter to you at the Duke’s orders. In twenty minutes, three men will be here to
kill you.”
286- “You have guards following you, don’t you? Well Michael’s men are following them. If
you’re alone, then you’ll die.”
287- “Now go quietly this way past the summer house for about a hundred metres. There you’ll
find a ladder against the wall. Climb it and run as fast as you can.”
288- “I also have a game to play. I’ll tell the Duke’s men that you never came. If the Duke
doesn’t find out what I’ve done, we may meet again.”
289- “Yes, you must leave here before they arrive, so listen carefully! The plan is to kill you and
to take your body into the old town. It’ll be found and Michael will arrest Colonel Sapt and Captain
Fritz von Tarlenheim for murdering you. Then a messenger will be sent to Zenda and the real King
will be murdered too.”
290- The Duke will then become King. Do you understand?”
291- “Yes, I do know. Inside the castle there’s a door on the right, and behind that-but listen!”

25
292- “They’re here! It’s too late for you to escape!”
293- “I also have a game to play. I’ll tell the Duke’s men that you never came. If the Duke
doesn’t find out what I’ve done, we may meet again.”
294- “Listen! I know who you are and I know you are not the King.”
295- “I don’t like to see people being killed. Now go. But remember you’re never safe in this city.”
Rassendyll to Antoinette
296- “Oh, yes, I understand. It’s a clever plan. But why are you helping me?”
297- “Or I’ll kill them! I suppose they’re three of the Duke’s six men?”
298- “Thank you. You’ve helped the King tonight,” “But before I go, tell me something. Do you
know where he is in the castle?”
299- “But before I go, tell me something. Do you know where he is in the castle?”
The Princess to Rassendyll
300- “You’ve been King for a few weeks now,” “Everyone says you’ve done a very good job. I’m
very pleased for you.”
301- “Why does it say ‘the leader’ and not ‘the King’?”
302- “So you don’t mind making Michael angry?”
303- “Be careful, won’t you?”
304- “I can’t say. But think what your life means to the people of Ruritania.”
305- “But you always knew that you would become King. How could you think that was someone
else’s job?”
Rassendyll to the Princess
306- “You know, someone once said to me, ‘a person who has a position in society has
responsibilities.’ Recently I’ve realized how true this is.”
307- “I’ll order guards to watch you.”
308- “A friend of mine. Today you must say you’re ill so you can’t go to Zenda.”
309- “There’s something you should know. I’m not really ….”
310- “You must do as the letter says. I’ll order guards to watch you.”
311- “No, when I was younger. I didn’t think I needed to worry about society. I thought that was
someone else’s job.”
312- “I don’t mind anything if you’re safe.”
Detchard to Rassendyll
313- “Our names are not important. We can offer you a safe journey to the border and fifty
thousand English pounds.”
314- “Why don’t you open the door yourself?”
Rassendyll to Detchard
315- “Very well, but it opens outwards,” I explained.” “You’ll need to stop back or the door will
hit you.”
Rassendyll to Michael’s men
316- “Stand outside and talk.” “I won’t let you in.”
317- “Gentleman, “I’d like to accept your kind offer. “Perhaps you can open the door for me.”
318- “That sounds a generous offer. Give me a minute to think.”
Fritz to Rassendyll
319- “Oh, it has all been prepared,” “by me.”
One of Michael’s men to Rassendyll
320- “We want to make you an offer. Will you let us in?”
Rassendyll the Marshal
321- “Every evening. I’ll send you a message. If you don’t get a message for three days, you have
the authority to say that you are now the head of Strelsau.”
322- “You must then ask the Duke to allow you to see the King. If he doesn’t allow you to see the
King in twenty-four hours, you must say that the King’s dead.”
323- “Then you must tell the people of Ruritania who their new ruler will be. You do know who
that will be?
Rassendyll to Fritz and Sapt
324- “I don’t know anything about a ball.”

Chapter (6)
Rassendyll to the Marshal
325- “As you know, his mother was not royal and he can only legally become King if he mar ries
the Princess.”
326- “You must promise that you’ll protect Princess Flavia from the Duke.”
327- “Now I’ll write down what I’ve just said. But my finger still hurts.”
The Marshal to Rassendyll
328- “The Princess will be safe with me.”
329- “The writing’s a little different from your usual. I hope people know it’s a real order from the
King.”
Rassendyll the Princess
330- “The thing I hunt is a very big animal.” I explained.” “Because I’ll be hunting Michael.”
331- “If I don’t come back, you must become Queen for me.”
332- “Thank you. Let us hope that it’s not necessary.”
The Princess to Rassendyll
333- “I don’t really know what’s going on, but I’ll do whatever is right for Ruritania. If that means
becoming the Queen, then so be it.”
334- “So you’d prefer to hunt animals than do your duties in the capital?”
Rassendyll to Rupert
335- And what of your friends De Gautet, Bersonin and Detchard? I heard that Detchard was
injured?”
336- “Good. Perhaps you would like to stay and eat with us?”
337- “Of course you do,” “Thank you for coming. I look forward to seeing you all again.”
338- “But you can’t say that in public, can you? Because then people would know you’ve
kidnapped the real King. You know the game’s not finished yet, and until it is, I will choose my own
name,” “So what is your message?”
339- “If you do not know how to address the King, my brother must find another messenger.”
340- “Tell the Duke that I refuse his generous offer. How’s his prisoner, by the way?”
341- “I’m sorry to hear this. I hope my brother feels better soon.”
342- “Good, now go from here, while you can.”
“You needn’t worry, Detchard will be fine.”
344- “The Duke offers you more than I would. He offers you a safe journey to the border and a
million gold pieces.”
345- “I have a message for you, Rassendyll.”
346- “You’re very kind but unfortunately we have important duties and need to get back to the
castle.
347- “Why do you continue to pretend? We all know who you are.”
Sapt to Rassendyll
348- “That Rupert’s the worst criminal of them all!”
349- “It’s a very clever plan,” “It means that if we attack the castle quietly and secretly, or openly
with a great army, the King will still be dead before we can save him.”
350- “It seems that it’s dangerous to ride in this area unless you’re in a large group.”
351- “One of our men, Bernenstein, went out alone in the woods today. He saw three m en in the
trees and one shot him.”
352- “I think that this time next year, you’ll still be King.”
353- “He’s upstairs in bed with a bullet in his arm. The next bullet could be for you.”
Rassendyll to Sapt
354- “One is if we have a miracle, and the other is if one of the Duke’s men betrays him.”
355- “There are two ways in which the King can come out of Zenda alive.”
Rassendyll to Fritz
356- “Of Course. Just do as I say and everything will be fine.”
Fritz to Rassendyll
357- “And the good news is that your plan has worked, for the girl’s brought Johann to the house.
He’s downstairs right now, and the strange thing is that I think Johann’s happy to be here,”
“He
27
seems to know that if Michael’s plan is successful, he’ll be in trouble because he knows too much.”
358- “Won’t they recognize you, then?”
359- “The doctor says your arm will soon be better.”
The innkeeper’s daughter to Rassendyll
360- I told my mother you weren’t really an Englishman and that you were the King! I’m sorry if
we said anything bad when you stayed with us.”
361- “You won’t hurt him, will you, sir?”
362- “You’re the King! I remember you when you stayed with us.”
363- “He never comes here anymore. He works at the castle now.”
Rassendyll to the innkeeper’s daughter
364- “But you’re still friends and you must ask to see him,” “Tell him to meet you tomorr ow night
at ten o’clock, then bring him to our house. And tell no one that you’ve seen the King. Do
you
understand?”
365- “I’ll forgive you if you promise to help us.”
Johann to Rassendyll
366- “They have another plan.” “If the castle’s attacked by a large group of soldiers, they would
do the same thing, but one of the six men would take the King’s place. So when Michael arrived at
the castle, he could say that he was only keeping one of the six men as prisoner because he’d been
rude to Antoinette de Mauban. No one would believe that the King was ever there.”
367- “Yes, and so does my brother, Max. He helped to put up the pipe to the prison window. It’s
not easy to sleep at the Castle of Zenda because no one feels safe. Everyone in it is a criminal, except
the King.”
Rassendyll to Johann
368- “Does the King know about Michael’s plan?”
369- “If anyone asks you if there is a prisoner in the castle, you can say there is. But if anyone
asks you who the prisoner is, do not answer. We can help you if you keep your pro mises, otherwise
you’ll never be safe again.”
370- “What if many men attacked the castle?”
371- “You can go back to the castle now.”
******************************************************
Chapter (7)
Rassendyll to the Chief of the Police
372- “Yes, I do. I believe she and her servant were guests of Duke Michael.”
373- “I believe she and her servants were guests of Duke Michael.”
374- “Go back to Strelsau and tell the Ambassador what you know. I’ll look into this for you.”
375- “Return in two weeks and I’ll tell you what I’ve found.”
Rassendyll to Rupert
376- “How’s my brother today?”
377- “You don’t have to work for my brother.”
378- “Would you really work against Michael?”
379- “How’s my brother today?”
380- “You’re young. Why are you doing this? If you let your prisoner go free, I can help you.”
Rupert to Rassendyll
381- “He’s well,” “He hopes he’ll soon be in Strelsau.”
382- “Think carefully about my plan.”
“That will leave two men alive. You and me. You’ll stay as the King, and I’ll have a reward.”
384- “You may be right. Attack the castle bravely. I’ll tell you when.”
385- “He’s not a good man. He makes me angry. I nearly killed him myself last night. ”
Johann to Rassendyll
386- “Then, at two o’clock in the morning, open the front door to the mansion. Ask no more
questions. Now go.”
Rassendyll to Johann
387- “I hear there are new servants at the castle. Do these servants know the King’s a prisoner
there?”
388- “Good. Tomorrow night, give this letter to Antoinette de Mauban.”

28
389- “So if they saw me, they’d think that I was the King?”
390- “No, they don’t know who the prisoner is.”
391- “I’ll give you fifty thousand pieces of gold if you do what I ask you tomorrow night.”
392- “Why doesn’t my brother kill me now?” (The King to Detchard)
393- “The Duke doesn’t want you to die, not yet anyway. Sleep well!” (Detchard to the King)
394- “They’ve got me, Rupert! There are seven of them. Save yourself!”
(one of Michael’s men (Krafstein or Lauengram)to Rupert)
395- “Let’s go across before they lift the drawbridge for the night.” (Rupert to De Gautet)
******************************************************
Chapter (8)
Rupert to Michael
396- “Come on, Michael! Let’s fight!”
397- “This woman’s been writing secret letters to Rassendyll.”
Rupert to Johann
398- “That’s for you, Johann. I know you’re Rassendyll’s spy.”
(Rupert to the servants)
399- “Dead! That’s good. Then I’m your leader now. Put down your weapons and do as I say.”
Michael to Rupert
400- “She’s my guest. It’s you who needs to be punished.”
Rupert to Rassendyll
401- “What did you do at the castle?”
402- “Do you mean that you got inside the King’s prison?”
403- “And what’s happened to the King?”
“Why didn’t you follow my plan? We could have worked together.”
Rassendyll to Rupert
405- “Get off your horse and fight like a man.”
406- “I make sure that you are the last of the six men.”
407- “He was hurt, but he’s alive.”
Rassendyll to Fritz
408- “Go after him!”
409- “Is the King safe?”
Fritz to Rassendyll
410- “Sir, you don’t look well.”
411- “Thanks to you, he is. But you’re injured, let me help you.”
The Marshal to Sapt
412- “This boy says the King’s over there behind that tree.”
Sapt to the Marshal
413- “No, he’s in the castle behind me.”
Sapt to the Princess
414- “Come. It’s time you come into the castle, we have much to discuss.”
415- “Then come alone.”
The Princess to Sapt
416- “What’s this game you’re playing?”
417- “He is the King!” cried Flavia.” “It’s his face! Rudolf, look at me! What’s happening?”
418- “What do you mean it’s not the King?”
The King to Sapt and Rassendyll
419- “Very well, I’ll return to Strelsau alone. People know that the King was injured, so they
won’t be surmised to see me looking a little different.”
420- “The Princess has asked to see you, too.” “She can come in now.”
The King to Rassendyll
421- “Cousin! My friend! You’re injured, too. We are always the same, you and I!”
422- “I hoped that tomorrow, you’d come with me to Strelsau and tell everyone about the brave
things that you’ve done, but Sapt tells me that this isn’t possible.”
Rassendyll to the King
423- “I’d happily help you again, sir.”
