4. There are also cats of different breeds, the Siamese cat being the
most popular. They are ore quiet and gentle than dogs. They come
in a variety of colors -bleach, white, brown, or a combination of two
or three colors.
They say that “dogs are man’s best friends.” They make the people around them
feel better. Scientific findings show that pet owners tend to have a lower and more
stable blood pressure than non-pet owners. It warms their heart when they are
greeted by their pet enthusiastically when they come home.
1. BALANCED DIET
➢ Some Filipinos usually give their dogs with leftover food that may have far too
many nutrients and none at all. When dogs are given an unbalanced diet, the
dogs’ coat can grow rough and coarse and, in some cases, even fall out in
patches leaving unsightly bald spots.

2. VETERINARY CARE
➢ It is best to visit veterinarians at the earliest possible opportunity because a
dog at a young age is very susceptible to some life-threatening and
contagious diseases that are easily prevented by vaccination.
3. SOCIALIZATION
➢ Dogs also need socialization. Introduce the dogs to the outdoor world by
taking it for a walk. Once a dog’s vaccination is complete, it can interact with
other dogs.
4. HOUSE TRAINING
➢ It will be helpful to maintain a regular feeding schedule. After a short time, a
dog may want to go to the toilet. It may walk in circles, sit by the door, sniff
the ground.
5. PROPER GROOMING
A. Teething
➢ Young dogs usually damage shoes, slippers, and some furniture in the
house. Limit the damage by providing a couple of chewing toys and
functional snacks.
b. Skin and Coat
➢ Long haired breeds will need brushing everyday and short-haired breeds
only once a week. Grooming may also allow the owner to regularly check
the dog for fleas, ticks, or any potential problems.
c. Eliminating ticks and fleas
➢ If the dog appears to be excessively scratching or keeps biting his/her skin,
the dog may have ticks (garapata) or fleas (pulgas).
d. Preventing Worms
➢ To ensure that the dog is free of roundworms, hookworms, whipworms,
tapeworms, and hydatid tapeworm, ask the veterinarian about deworming
treatments.

An attractive aquarium in your living room, or in your dining area helps improve the
ambiance in the area. Having an aquarium as a means of pastime helps an
individual develop a sense of responsibility, caring, and patience.

There are different feeds available for different fish. Here are some of them.
Cats are loved by many because of their skill in catching rats and mice. Cats are quiet type
of pets. They are sweet to their owners and loved to be touched by them. Cats have soft
and tender bodies covered with fur. They are warm-blooded animals that eat fish, rice, and

WHAT DO CATS NEED?
1. PROPER NUTRITION
➢ Cats are said to be mouse-eaters, but mouse alone cannot supply the needs of the
cats. Cats usually eat foods that come from the owner’s leftover. It contains some
nutrients but not enough to supply the needs of the cats. Just like dog’s cats also
need a balanced diet. This diet contains the necessary nutrients like carbohydrates,
protein, fats, and other mineral essential for growth and health. There are some
commercially prepared foods for the cats, but homemade foods are also
recommended.
2. HOUSE
➢ Cats don’t need cages, but a mat is needed for them to sleep. The mat should be
clean and well maintained because cats usually bring their food in their place.
3. HOUSE TRAINING
➢ It is recommended to train the cat in doing his/her things by keeping a schedule
for feeding and toilet training. Cat’s mess has a terrible odor that can be smelled
all over the house. Don’t spank the cat or rub his/her face to mess because it will
not help him/her learn. Clean the mess immediately and brush it with soap and
water to remove the smell.
Pigeons are also called territorial birds, that is why careful planning of their cages is
very important to avoid bird fight, which could result to instant death.
Pigeons are colorful, affectionate, and considered smart bird. They can be wonderful
pets at home and in your backyards. They bring joy and pride to whoever is taking care
of them, especially to children when they see their pets flying around their cages and
making sounds.
Pigeons are not just pets. They can also be a source of income by engaging in pigeon
breeding as a business. Breeding different types of pigeon is very popular and profitable
to those who engage in pigeon racing and other pigeon breeders.
