very limited time. Jyada se jyada 10-15 minutes. That too not
every day.

Professional Batters work A LOT on Basics of Batting.

Sachin Tendulkar ne 2003 World Cup me 673 runs banaye,


WITHOUT BATTING IN NETS! He just did lots of throwdows
every day to get his basics right!

You get to bat only maybe 10 to 15 mins in the nets at your


academy. That’s not enough to become a professional
cricketer.

So aapko ghar pe aapke basics pakke karne hai.

This is what it looks like:

Most importantly. Mark your guard with chalk before you


start batting:

Draw all three stumps, and draw your crease along with it.

Step 1: Stand on your guard and check your front foot stride
distance.

Step 2: Place a tennis ball according to your stride distance.

Step 3: Take your stance

Step 4: Take your front foot stride and play the ball. The
ball should go in the line where you played the shot.

Step 5: Take your follow-through and hold that
position for five seconds for balance.

Step 1: Stand on your guard and check your back foot
stride distance.

Step 2: Place a tennis ball on top of a bottle according to


your stride distance.

Step 3: Take your stance

Step 4: Take your back foot stride and play the ball. The
ball should go in the line where you played the shot.

Step 5: Take your follow-through and hold that position for

sport hai. It’s you batting alone, against the ball.

And the good news is, YOU CAN PRACTICE ALONE

Ek awesome practice technique hai Wall Batting. This


helps you build:

Hand-Eye coordination
Control on your bat
Helps you play with straight bat
Batting Stamina (try to bat without break for a long
time)

Here's how you can practice this at home

Step 1: Hold your bat in the top hand and tennis ball in the
bottom hand.

Step 2: Throw the tennis ball STRAIGHT and hold the bat
with both hands, be ready to play.

Step 3: Play the ball as straight as possible so it comes
back straight and you don’t have to move. (Use your feet
to get into good positions so you can hit straight.)

Koi player akele India ke liye nahi khelta hai. Uski poori
family khelti hai.

So it’s important to INVOLVE YOUR FAMILY in your game.


Brother, Sister, Father, Mother, everyone.

They will help you with your lifestyle, diet, and even
Batting technique.

Take their help to practice batting at home, with softballs


and underarm throws.

After doing basics as above, practice your shots at home


with your parents.

Step 1: Stand in stance. Ask your family member to use
softballs/tennis balls.

Step 2: Ask your family member to throw underarm,


slowly. Practice front foot and back foot shots.

Batting is about getting into good positions.

Getting into position matlab moving arms and legs into


the right place just in time for the ball.

Early nahi, late nahi. For this you need control. For control,
you need to be physically fit.

Fitness helps in other things also.

Staying side on. Keeping your balance while batting.


Batting for long periods, like 90 overs. Keeping your
concentration in the slog overs.

your body. No need for a gym.

First, handle your own body weight. You can do all these

at home.

Here are five starting lifestyle tips:

1 . After working hard, recover well: Recovery is as


important as fitness. In fitness sessions, we push the body.
When we sleep, the body grows stronger. Less sleep, less
strength. Make sure you sleep 8-10 hours a day. For that,
you have to stay away from your phone after 8 PM.
Sacrifices!

2. Work on your concentration and emotions with


meditation and pranayam: This is the best way to be
mentally very fit. You can start with this simple five-
minute pranayam.

3. Respect your equipment: Clean your bat once a week


with sandpaper. Apply wax to keep it smooth. Wipe your
pads. Clean up your kit bag, and keep it organized. If you
take care of your bat, your bat will take care of you.

4. Don’t practice without a goal. Set weekly goals with


your family. Think about process goals (properly watching
50 balls in the nets), not result goals (scoring 50 runs).
Then do your practice with those goals in mind. Analyze
your performance at the end of every week.

5. Discuss your game, your goals, your problems with


coaches, parents, and mentors: Ask whatever question you
have in your mind. If you don’t ask, you won’t get answers.
Find good people to guide you about your game, in real
life or online.
