Does Remote Learning helps the Students progress their learning?

The learning modality nowadays serves as a challenge to many students

and especially it affects their learning progress. Many students find remote
learning challenging and difficult. And according to a reliable source Three out of
10 could not say if their children were learning or not.

Many students find remote learning helpful and useful because it helps
them study and continue education in the midst of the pandemic. And I oppose
that it helps the students in their learning progress. Here are the reasons why.

First of all, according to Pulse Asia survey, "less than half of parents or
guardians think their children are benefiting from distance learning. Only 46
percent of the respondents said their children were learning, while 25 percent or
1 in 4 said their children were not learning." This survey is enough to say that
remote learning or distance learning aren't that helpful to the student's learning
progress.

And as a student I can also say that our learning progress in these current
learning modalities is much slower than before. However, some learning
modalities are much better than other but it requires internet connection and
mobile phones.

A lot of students especially the primary school students depend on their

family members or primarily in their household heads. But many household heads
have low attained education or don’t graduate in high school. According to Pulse
Asia, up to 54 percent of Filipino household heads have not completed high
school.

Another reason why I don't believe that remote learning doesn't help the
student’s progress their learning is that a lot of students experiences stress,
depression, and anxiety because of their piled up school works. Many students in
social media says #PagodnaKami and #AcademicFreezenow or they are tired and
requesting to freeze education amidst the pandemic.
Finally, many students can't pass their outputs on the given deadline and
student's parents are also struggling to manage their time for their student
children and household chores.

Overall, the learning modalities in this times helps the students continue
their studies but with slower learning progress. But as of now, our government
are conducting and trying to test face-to-face classes in low risk areas which is
good for the students.

Hence, I suppose that students, teachers, parents, and the government

must help one another for the sake of the learning of the students. And I hope
that education won't get interrupted anymore.
