KOMPETENSI DASAR:
3.3Menerapkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks interaksi
transaksional lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta
informasi terkait niat melakukan suatu tindakan/kegiatan, sesuai dengan konteks
penggunaannya. (Perhatikan unsur kebahasaan be going to, would like to)

melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait niat melakukan suatu
tindakan/kegiatan, dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur

ACTIVITY 1
Read and learn the following information!
There are some ways to express about intention to do something in the future, such as :
1. Will
“Will” is used to express a spontaneous intention made at the moment of speaking. Normally,
it is used to show future facts or prediction.
The Pattern = S + will + verb 1
Example : I will call you back in a minute.

2. Be going to
We use “Be going to” when we have the intention to do something before we speak or we
have already made a decision before speaking.
The Pattern = S + be going to + verb 1
Example : We are going to Bali Next Holiday.

3. Would like to
“Would like to” is used to tell our dream or intention.
The Pattern = S + would like to + verb 1
Example : I would like to learn French
I would like to study at Colombia University.

The Common Expressions :


Asking Someone’s Intention Expressing Intension

 What will you do..?  I will...


 What are you going to do?  We’re going to...
 What is your plan?  I would like to
 Do you have any plans ....?  My plan is . . .
 Have you got a plan for next holiday?  We’re thingking of...
 What would you do?  What I have in my mind is ...
 What we plan to do is...
 I’ll tell you what we’ll do.
