II. RATIONALE
To realize the Department of Education’s vision to continuously improve as a

learning centered institution, expansion of continuing professional development and
advancement of teachers who are tasked to deliver basic education to the students, our
primary stakeholders is strengthened. Thus, continuous professional growth of teachers is
essential. Therefore, the Learning Action Cell program is a well-designed planning
exercise where teachers among the department can collaborate.
III. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the project, we shall be able to:
1) Engage in collaborative learning sessions to solve shared challenges encountered in

the department by the designated LAC leader.
2) Continuously improve teachers’ pedagogical skills, instructional strategies, and
assessment practices which in turn will result in students’ improved academic
achievement.
3) Introduce the concept of collaborative learning and skills such as mentoring,
coaching, and feedback giving, that facilitators, mentors, and coaches need when
engaged in LACs.
