Course Title: Kasaysayan ng Pilipinas (Philippine History) LAB Units: 0 This course Philippine History is designed to enhance student’s knowledge of the Philippines past and open
avenues that will develop Filipino culture and values. An analytical and narrative- descriptive study of history
Pre-requisite(s): None LEC Hours: 0
grounded on areas of political, economic and socio- cultural development in the Philippines (from pre-
colonial to present). The focus of this course is the history of the Filipino people - their beginnings, struggles,
failures and achievements. It also combines chronological approaches focusing on geographical settings,
Co-requisite(s): None LAB Hours: 0 civilizations, foreign influences and struggles of the Filipino people. Moreover, this course interplays both
internal and external forces which paved way to the rise of Philippine Nationalism from Colonial period, the
grant of Philippine Independence unto the Contemporary period. Only history can acquaint us with the
tradition, ideals and goals which have brought us about the Filipino way of life.
The students will undertake online research and write a reflective paper on salient, informative, and
sensitive topics or issues covered by this course.
