Gael Majchrzak – Artistic Director, Sweet Fashion House

Gael Majchrzak, a Master Patissier by trade, is Artistic Director at Sweet Fashion House, Hong
Kong’s premium dessert brand, created to bring art to the everyday with boldly designed
desserts that fuse innovative flavours with the finest ingredients. With over 25 years’ experience
in the industry, Gael brings an abundance of creative spirit and a keen eye for detail to
everything he creates.

Gael started his education in 1991, studying at one of the best, most rigorous, culinary schools in
France. Graduating in 1995 Gael’s art has taken him all over the world, working under some of
the most sought-after chefs in the industry.

Throughout his career Gael has enriched his understanding of the industry by working alongside
some of the greatest two and three start Michelin chefs in the world. In 2000 Gael was lucky
enough to work as Pastry Sous-Chef at luxury 5-star hotel, La Bastide St Antoine Hotel in
Grasse, France. Here he worked alongside Mr Jacques Chibois, a culinary virtuoso with 2
Michelin stars, known for creating food which is full of surprises.

In 2003, Gael worked as Pastry Sous-Chef at The Negresco in Nice, France, a 5-star hotel on
the French Riviera. Here he worked alongside Alain Lorca (2 Michelin Stars) and later Michel Del
Burgo. During his time at The Negresco, Gael refined his art and learned to create some of the
most ostentatious and beautiful confectionery, fitting with the hotel’s Late Baroque theme.

Leaving France in 2004, Gael moved to Moscow to fill the role of Pastry Chef at Le Duc
restaurant in Moscow, again collaborating with Michel Del Burgo. During his time here he
launched Café Pushkin – a Russian patisserie designed around a French palace of the 18th
century. Here Gael managed the creation of extraordinary cakes, biscuits, sherbets and candies,
each one a work of art in its own right, bringing the art of French patisserie to the people of
Russia.

In 2006 Gael turned his hand to teaching, working as a Patisserie Trainer for the Culinary
Academy of Moscow. Following his time teaching in Moscow, Gael returned to France in 2012,
where he worked as a Patisserie Trainer at the Gastronomical School of Patisserie Bellouet
Conseil, Paris.

After working with some of the most talented and creative minds in the world of patisserie, Gael
felt it was time to bring his passion to Hong Kong and put his name to a venture that was close to
his heart. Sweet Fashion House is the culmination of 25 years’ experience and as Artistic
Director, Gael works to create cakes, macarons and chocolate that are different from anything
else on the market. Inspired by artistry, Gael’s cakes, chocolates and pastries are lovingly made
from the finest and most high-quality ingredients. Never settling for less than perfection, he
brings beauty, elegance, and above all, imagination, to every bespoke creation.

Gael has achieved various accolades throughout his career, including qualifying as a finalist in
the World Chocolate Masters France and participating in the prestigious Meilleurs Ouvriers de
France (Best Craftsman in France) competition. Both competitions involve creating haute couture
levels of chocolate, showcasing the innovation, creativity and precision that goes into the art of
chocolate making.

Gael’s long and distinguished career has earned him worldwide recognition and success as a
renowned pastry chef and chocolatier. Gael is passionate about the art of confectionery and is a
bold innovator, always exploring unusual but harmonious flavour combinations and using cutting-
edge design. Gael and his team’s arrival in Hong Kong has been long-anticipated and the works
of art offered by Sweet Fashion House are met with great excitement.
